Fort Grief Quest (SPOILER)

I have recently got the quest to find a axe in a Fort Grief. I have arrived at fort Grief but cant find a way in. plz help me.

There is a turn handle right next to the gate which will open it.

Along those same lines how do i get the the gate open when ive finished killing everyone?

I cant find the switch or lever.

It's inside the fort, door / porticullis on the left when you enter.

Is it on the ground? Im looking all over around the gate by the big blood smear and i do not see anything.

And i have the "real key" for it as well i just cant find it.

No i already am outside and beat the archer and that Dragol Guy (got the key off his body), I just cannot find the way to open the gate. (it says it is opened elsewhere)

Go inside the actual fort, not the tower you're standing in. It's right at thebeginning

very odd

hmm i just finished gettint the real key and came out and the orc (cant remember name - kurdon i think ) was there and he killed the other guy ("something" Loche) now they are both dead adn i got out of the gate, with them both being dead i returned to the wife to see what would happen and the quest just leaves it there, she just keeps asking how he is, and to go sve him, but he is dead. strange, have i missed something?

There should have been a khajit archer as well. Also check the corpses, see if that updates the quest (can't remember hehe).
