action que ?

Post by joe05 »

Guys - I'm on Danatoonie and about to become a Jedi ?
I've learned from past RPG games; ask before screwing up your character :-)

I've done this custom build 3 times, and I don't want to restart.

I picked Scoundrel and I guess Jedi Guardian.

My questions are......>
1) I want to use Speed and some attack to do big-time damage.
I noticed Bastilla(sp?) get whooped in the Sith base in every fight = I guess I should have put armor on her, but was unsure if she used Speed(... that will lead to another question)
It says Critical Strike is an "actionable" choice.
I noticed my 4 action icons = force(... nothing there now) ... med pacs ... boosts ... mine
Where will Critical Strike be located ?
How do I que up these acy=tions = the manual is brief in it's description

2) If Bastilla is in my party, what are good force powers for her ... do I que her up as well in combat, or does the "game" do the choosing

I'm not sure the best party combination ... or at least the one with the least micro-managing

I like Carth Onasi(sp?); not sure of the 3rd member.

I stopped leveling my character at 2 = I'm now at 29,000pts
I'll have lots of decisions to make and I don't want to screw it up.

Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

the critical strike option is on the combat menu that comes up when fighting - its with flurry etc. - you just have to scroll through them til you get the one you want to use.

as for bastila - put her on jedi support and give her party buffing powers and heal etc. If she is on jedi support she will automatically cast her powers before attacking anything so you can just leave her too it while you take advantage of the bonuses from the buffs. In fights you can leave your party members to do their own thing and they will follow the script you have set, like jedi support, ranged etc. and then you can choose to switch to controlling them any time you want just by clicking their icon if you want them to do something specific.

as for party members - canderous and carth are great as back up with ranged weapons (or even melee for canderous). I usually have one ranged party member or droid and one jedi with me when I play - unless I feel like a change then I go for all jedi :) If you have one ranged and one jedi on jedi support doing all the healing and buffing stuff, you can pretty much leave them to it most of the time and concentrate on your main character in fights.

mr_sir: thanks.
Your post really helped !
Also, thanks for not pointing out my ignorance :-) ... the combat menu is right in the middle of the screen ... I only thought of it, because I remebered it changed when I was using a ranged(...Sniper shot) or melee weapon

When I get Bastila back, I may be back ... if I can't figure how to put her on "Jedi Support"

Messing with the Action Que ... seems, sometimes I'll jump into the fight or run quickly ?
I prefer the Force Jump = I think it does damage
I'm gauging distance to see if that matters.
I also tried clicking "speed" before action, to see if that works; then Critical Strike twice
I'm so worried about getting killed, I'm not sure what works best or doesn't work = today will be trial and error :-)

I think the creatures respawn .. maybe the Mandalorian raiders as well ?
I know I killed them going in.
Ok with me = more action menu practice :-)

Thanks for your help !
