Runaway horse?

Post by SpitFire_IX »

Every time I dismount my horse out in the woods it starts walking away and if I'm not looking after it, it will wander off and disappear. Is it supposed to be like that? Have I got a horse with an unusually disobedient personality och is it just a bug?
Anyway it's starting to get really annoying since I can't go exploring by foot without losing my precious horse.

If it is a stolen horse, then it will return to the nearest stable I think.
Otherwise it should pretty much stay where you put it. it might go a few feet away but not much.

Actually, the same thing has happened to me a few times, but don't worry, it will be back at whatever stable you are closest too, if u fast travel.

Actually, it didn't show up at the closest stable as I too had hoped.

But anyway, the problem is now solved. I fast travelled on horseback to the closest town and rested the night and the next day when I rode out the horse was back to normal. Probably was just a minor bug

It will always fast travel with you, unless of course its stolen, at which point it will leave you as has been mentioned.

Now, if you want a free horse
Spoiler
Follow along with the main quest to th epoint where you first meet Jauffre, when he tells you to go and find martin, and that you should ask the other monks for help, talk to the Prior, he will give you his horse for free. or join the Dark Brotherhood and advance, and advance, after awhile you will be given a sensitive mission that you can talk about to no one, after you complete it you get the fastest horse I have ever seen as a reward. The DB horse tends to wander a little bit, the Prior's is slow but reliable.
If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
