Fable:TLC error 1305

Post by psxdude »

I get an error 1305 on the 4th disc while installing Fable:TLC. I have tried using a registry fix program, re-registering windows installer, re-installing windows installer (thats what microsoft help site told me to do). I also tried installing in safe mode but InstallShield doesnt like safe mode :S because i get another error when its configuring windows installer.

The exact error is:
Error 1305. Error reading from file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable-TLC\data\lang\English\ScriptDialogue2.lut

The only thing changed from the default location is the name of Fable-TLC from the long version of Fable - The Lost Chapters.

I dont have a 2nd hard disc to try and install this to and I tried both my CD-RW and DVD drives. If you need anymore info please ask. I really want to get this to work without exchanging it again because i already did that once because of a missing product key

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE:

I figured out that it has to be the disc so i exchanged it and got it installed :speech: Now the only thing is with the subtitle text and the description text. Sometimes its normal and works great and other times parts of words will be gone or nothing at all will be shown. Any info on what is causing this will be appreciated because its annoying not knowing the price of stuff before i buy it.

I believe he meant he ended up returning it to the store, and getting another copy. The fault would have been on the cd, causing the problem.

Back to your question, if I remember correctly, this subtitle issue has come up frequently in the Fable & Fable TLC forum. It has something to do with drivers, a quick search there will yield the answer.

Here is one solution for Nvidia users.

If it doesn't apply/help, just take a quick search through the forum and you might find more.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

ahh ok , then it was exchanging like i thought it was :)
i cant go back to the store, i will have to send an email to bearshare but that probably wont w0rk :P

its the installing thing, ive searched but couldnt find it..
when im installing he fails almost at the end :/
corrupt file is scriptdialogue2.lut when i mount the image in deamon tools and i explore it. i can open the 4th zipfile (cd4~1.cad) but when i try to extract SCRIPTDIALOGUE2.LUT winrar says the file is corrupt..

so i was thinking that its just the file, mayb i need non corrupt file
and that if i download a good version of the file that it should work..

some1 willing to put it up on fileshack or something like that?? :P

have you tried just using the original cd rather than a copy? If that doesn't work then its a fault with the original cd.

The Fix :)

Hey Guys, I came here looking for some kind of answer to this problem but ended up Fixing it at the same time lol

It worked for me twice on my friends Laptop, and my PC.

Once the error comes up Eject the CD from your drive and press "retry", then you should get a error msg saying somethign like the installer couldnt find/read CD 4, once that appears insert the CD again, and press "retry" it should start to load and finish teh install.

as for a .ISO maybe demount the drive and remount?
