Mira : jedi or non-jedi?

Post by Newbie »

Hi

Is it a good thing having Mira a jedi? As a jedi, she's no more a scout so she can't have free feats as Targeting (and Uncanny Dodge but this one sucks)
Ok as a jedi she gains force powers (useless without enough Wisdom and Charisma) and greater defense (good point!).
What's the best? Scout Mira for higher attack or Jedi Mira for higher defense?

And a bonus question: what feats do you give to Mira? (dueling or two-weapon? and the others?)

I find Mira pretty useless whatever I do to her. I tend to Jedify her, as she can do quite a bit of damage with a decent lightsaber, but not much with anything else, plus she can buff herself up a bit with Force Powers. The only really good use for her is to throw lightning from the back...

i agree, but i use mira whenever i can, as i see her as one of the most powerful players to have... i usually level her up to 50, so i have an array of feats and force powers i giver her... i usually max out all her melee feats and give buffering force powers with a few dark side aswell... um and thats all i can remember at the moment...

Why does everyone think that just because a character is a Jedi they have to be a robe wearing, saber wielding, melee fighter. Jedi can use blasters and heavy armor as well you know.
I always jedify Mira but leave her as a ranged fighter. I also leave her in armor.
Many force powers can be used with armor including Deflection. Most of her default combat feats are ranged in nature so making her a melee fighter seems like a waste to me.
When all else fails, try brute force.

I jedify Mira, give her robes, blasters and Force deflect/redirection...

She can take down a jedi... Usually leave it til later, so she gets some free targeting, plus I give her precise shot to ensure she kicks anyone's butt...

I agree (Deflection proves that ranged jedis exist)
If I jedify Mira, she won't have lightsaber (neither does Atton)
But the point is not about giving her a lightsaber or not (Mira with a lightsaber??? it never comes to my mind), it's about choosing attack or defense

well i dont know... when i think "jedi" i automatically think "lightsaber" so call me old fashioned, but i still think that blasters are "uncivilized" lol.

i checked it and i usually give her: maxed out melee, maxed conditioning, maxed 2 weapon, maxed toughness. those are my essentials. but just because i level her up to 50, i have some extra feats. so i give her maxed out ranged too, so when i jedify mira, i make her a flipping tank.

so... yea i only do ranged, because i have extra... lol but i always give her melee after jedification, before shes all ranged

You know, I would have praised that. But you see.. Heavy armor restricts the use of the force.. unless it's redirection or deflection.. but seriously.. why even bother then.

Mira as a Jedi.. here is my point, as usual. Get her in a high level scout, then jedi her, and level that up, she retains the scout abilities, and then adds up in the force. And for god's sake, give her a duel-bladed or duel light sabers, she has the two weapon fighting for a reason, and that's the reason. xD

Off topic but.. Revan is the best, eh? (Yes, im an obssessed freak.)
People always say to play nice, but some of us don't like to.. do we get the corner?

When I first got Mira and she levelled up she already had DUELING not TWF.

Same here.

As far as heavy armor restricting force powers goes, there are several powers that aren't restricted by armor. You may not have as many options in armor but I'd rather have a few maxed out force powers than a ton of weak powers.

i pretty much agree, w/ the exception of "robes" her default outfit is usually what she wears.

i usually jedify her at her starting level, in hindsight that's likely way too soon, it may be better to rack up the targeting and keep her as a ranged support / minesweeper.

two weapon fighting - pistols is my fave attack form for her, she may get a lightsabre later on if i've some extra. but she stays as a ranged combatant.

To be honest, Darksiders are better off for unrestricted powers (except Lightning and Drain Life). However, with armor on a Lightsider can still Heal, Stun Droid and Force Push (et seq.)

That being said, Mira can be quite handy with a well-upgraded single Lightsaber, provided she has Lightsaber Finesse, plus she can support by healing.

How do you make her a jedi? I tried three times now and I could not do it. This is the only thread I could find that talks about her being a jedi.

*** SLIGHT SPOILER (slight due to my appalling ememory) ****

My memory is hazy as to the specifics (you can probably find it in a walkthrough much easier), but essentially you do it through dialogue on Nar Shadaa. Talk about love, the world etc., until she softens to the idea of the force. Then you take her to the part of Nar Shadaa where you and Kreia "hear" the life of the planet. Mira hears it as well, has a revelatory moment, and agrees to be taught by you.

Sorry, that's not very speciifc I know, but a walkthrough will give you the specific dialogue route. But in short, you do it through dialogue.

I Jedify Mira - she's pretty useless otherwise. I usually get her with Duelling, so I make her a single-blader, which makes her into a pretty decent melee fighter, actually.
