AD&D Favorite Module

Post by Rail »

For those of you who played PnP AD&D, I'd like to hear what your favorite modules were. Way back when there was only Basic and Advances D&D, I liked the slaver series (A 1-4, I believe). I felt it was a good storyline the flowed on from one module to the next,creating a great adventure for the players to follow. It built the characters over years of their lives. It was loads of fun and made the players really stretch their imaginations, especially after they were captured and lost their equipment temporarily.

Any others out there?

For sentimental reason my favourite module is the "Temple of Elemental Evil" the first D&D game I ever played.

The module is pure monster slashing and old but still fun

I remember this one (Temple of Elemental Evil). I took a group of adventurers through this and had a blast. I customized it a great deal, but it was a great framework and detailed campaign. Good taste.

@Rail or anyone
Do you know any where that I can get a map for Temple of Elemental Evil. Now that I'm a DM, I wanted to go through the module with a group of players, but the box set I have seems to be missing a map and I don't think I want to try it without.

I'll see if I can find my copy. Have to go through some boxes of old stuff, but I'll see what I can dig up. I'll email if I come up with something.

One of the more memorable modules was Expedition to the Barrier Peaks..crossed over into Gamma World. The old Judges Guild module House on Hangmans hill was good. One of the hardest was Tomb of Horrors..the original deathtrap dungeon. My favorite that I played was White Plume Mountain, the original Ravenloft was good..the one that came out before the optional campaign

@Sheriff- Sorry. I've searched boxes of my old stuff, but to no avail. Can't find the maps! I'll let you know if I do, but I gotta ask around.

Ravenloft was good, Tomb of Horrors was also good. Although I never got to play them..grr(stuck being DM all the time)

Another series that was cool involved the Drow: Decent into the Depths, Queen of the Demon Web pits...there's another one, can't think of it.
