Arcanum date announced

Post by fable »

For those interested, the latest date I have on Arcanum's release is August 21st. Sierra's been making noises about holding it back until September, however, so we'll see. :)

Well, like most games, it probably won't ship on time...

@Aegis, it's much easier to be a prophet of doom after the fact. If your predictions are wrong now, everybody on this board, including their pet cat, will call you on it. :)

I'll bite. I know nothing about this game, apart from the fact that its been long awaited. Could someone give me a run down (details, please)? Or at least post a good site on it?

It uses the Fallout 1/2 engine and was developed by the same team, Troika, so if you know that game, you know its drawbacks and pluses. The biggest change is that the game is set in a world where magic and a Jules Vernian science both work. The more you learn of one, the more sensitized you are to it, and the less you are to the other. This means that if you learn a lot of "technology" recipes (like making elephant guns, fatigue restorers, Dwarven plate armore, etc), you won't be able to gain back health from healing spells, but you also can't be targeted by fireball spells.
