Lazy Character?

Post by ladyblack »

Hello all

I've been having a little problem with my game recently, although it was working in my favour. Whenever I encounter Shadow Wraiths, they are not bothered by myself or my companions, even though their colouring suggests that they are enemies. They simply wander about. I can kill them by attacking them, and they sometimes respond, but most of the time, I'm standing behind them, hacking away. It doesn't even depend on whether I'm evil or not, my good aligned characters have the same problems as the evil ones.

Normally, being able to kill an enemey without them fighting back might be a good thing. However, when I cast "Shadow Demon" as a companion, he won't attack anything, unless backed into a corner, or right in the path of an enemy trying to get at me.

Finally, and I think this may be part of the same problem, unless my character is within touching distance of an enemy, she won't attack them. I'm playing a Chaotic Evil Barbarian/Fighter, and the focus is on melee weapons, so I get a group of villains, and stick her in the middle of them. However, even when attacked directly, she will dodge the blow and ignore anyone I haven't clicked on. If she gets a successful cleave, she will then go on to kill that enemy, but otherwise she just stands there. Fortunately she has a +7 breastplate and a helmet with regenerating powers, otherwise she'd probably have been wiped out agaes ago.....Anyone else have this problem?
"And she'll be facing......VODKA! Over to John Anderson."

haha, no, but that's really funny. save your character information to a different file than the game default (export your character, then go into program files and copy all the exported character files to your my docs). next, delete and reinstall NWN and be sure to download any patches/updates/etc. then just paste your character files back into the NWN program file. You'll have to start at the beginning again, but at least you'll have your character and all your stuff. By the same rote, you could probably copy your save game files and then repaste them back into the new install if you really didn't want to start over.

As an aside, where did you get a helmet with regeneration on it? i've only found amulets or rings that give regen... and what is that helmet called?
