Think of joining Mages Guild

Thinking of joining Mages Guild

I'm a Breton and I pretty much just hack and slash my way through the game. But I'm thinking of joining the mages guild. Is my character and my style of play able to complete any MG quest?

The reason I want to join is because I feel that the rewards might be pretty good. Maybe get some nice enchanted items, or the think I want to do most is enchant weapons and armor with multiple effects. Please fill me in on any info you give about this.

Thanx...

First of all, I have not been able to enchant multiple effects on an item.

Second, there are some awesome returns on the quests, keep in mind loot is leveled.

SPOILER:
The staff you find on Mannimarco is rather fun to play with, combine that with the staff you get from Sanguine, and you can have a lot of fun when raiding towns.

My main weapons are blade and bow, I don't really use any magic and I never use staffs. So would it still be a good idea to join?

I rarely used magic when I ran through, although you want to keep alot of spells in your arsenal for enchanting purposes. One thing I suggest is enchanting a blade with silence or SPOILER:Do the malacath quest and recieve the ebony blade which does some nice damage, with a pretty good enchantment. its alot help later on in the quests.
My main weapons were blade and bow as well, I was mainly a thief/assassin, so I sneak attacked almost everything I saw, making the quests very simple to do with out magic.

Just joining will give you perks. Access to cheaper spells, free alchemy equipment, food, another place to sleep, enchanted weapons recharging, etc. It can't hurt. I'm playing a Khajiit acrobat assassin/thief and have little use for most of the magic except for alteration and mysticism and of course I use a lot of restoration spells. The early quests are fun and don't require much if any real ability in using magic. I've gotten as far as the Arcane University but I've accomplished everything that needed to be done for the quests with my bow and blade. Plus I need all the "fame" points I can get to help offset my high infamy level.

Well I've joined the guild and did quest, I did the one in anvil. I'm currently doing the quest in Chorrel, I found the book I was told to find and decided to try giving it to both the guild leader and that one lady. After giving it to the lady she said I could get some kind power by doing something at cloud top. What exactly do you get for doing that?

A spell. If you do it right! Follow instructions EXACTLY - and read between the lines! - and you should succeed. Unlike the fried corpse you took the book from... ;)
