Placing items: How to?

Post by Ragin Cajun »

Just curious for any of you using basement mods or any other type mods:

How do you place items on display on shelves or in display cases (or can you). I open the glass cover but there isn't an option (like in buy/sell) to drop an item.

Thanks for any help.

You drag them, with Z on the PC. It's very hard to do though. I use a mod for books, and it's fine, before I didn't even bother. I do not bother with the display cases either, it's very hard to place something, and even if you do when you do, the physics system can muck it up.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

PC version: just stand far away from where you want to place the item, otherwise you'll get a message saying "You are too close, etc"

Ok. Stand far away drag the item; still holding the item, hit the W key and walk over where you want to place the item. I've put Daedric Shields, exotic weapons, etc in the showcases- no problem.

The only problem I've found is trying to place items like books, potions, etc., upright. Haven't figured out a way to do that yet.

Locate the hand at the top edge of the book. Lift carefully, place very gently.

If you grab the book in the middle, it will never stand up. Same goes for 'planters' if you knock them over. Pick them up by the flowers, not by the pot.

A little care is needed, that's all. ;)

In my house, I put a bunch of statues standing up on tables and stuff thattook me 30 minutes to get it perfect. After when i came back it started sinking through the tables. Then when i came back to the house a couple of times the statues went right through the upstairs floor and all over my main floor. I was mad!
