Spoiler Request: A Brotherhood Betrayed Quest

Post by Nagroth »

Hi ! I need help with the "A Brotherhood Betrayed" quest, regarding the Vampire Hunter in Bruma. I know that this Dark Elf is supposed to to stay in Olav`s inn in Bruma, however, when I ask Olav about him, he won´t give me any info, despite being of maximum disposition to me. I believe the hunter is in the locked room in Olav´s inn, but I don´t have the skill to pick this lock.
Will this guy ever leave his room, or what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the help!

Normally Olav should give you the key to his room if his disposition is high enough (70+) but if he doesn't you can always try to pickpocket him when the inn is relatively empty. If you can't find a good spot to hide, chameleon might help.

Hm, Olav is bribed to the max... seems as if I have to try pickpocketing. Unfortunately, I have a more combat oriented character. Any chance this vampire hunter might leave the room ?

No, (very small spoiler) actually he isn't in there.

If you bribe him out, you can get the key. Inside the room you will find a diary. Search around...

I couldn´t bribe him above a disposition of 69, so he would not tell me about Raynil. Anyway, I found that by using the personality game, you can achieve a disposition beyond 70. Took me some tries, but I finished the quest yesterday.

I've also just found his diary, but I really have no idea where to go now with this quest. Can anybody please tell me where to go next (eventually in a PM)?

After reading the diary, you´re supposed to talk to the guy investigating the vampire slaying, (in the victim´s house). He will realize that the vampire hunter act was a ruse and send you to a cave nearby where the villain hides. Take him out and enjoy the loot (got a Daedric longsword from him, the only one I have seen so far!).

I've read the diary and have it with me, but when I talk to the guy investigating the murder about the murder he says "How's your investigation going?" Without any other options.

I did this quest about a week ago and can't remember all the details, but... I think you need to talk to the tavern owner again and then talk to the investigator. The diary mentions someone that the tavern owner remembers hearing about.

My questlog tells me to talk to the guy investigating the crime again. But he has nothing new to say.

A note most people turst you enough if your disposition is 70 or more...

try to get it above 60-65 and use a captivate spell, or bribe option.

I can't remember too, but you have to talk with 3 persons. travern owner, the wife and the inspector. May be you must discuss all (highlighted and not highlighted options) terms again...
