Slayer Change (spoiler?)

Post by barror7 »

I'm at the Asylum after completing the dungeons and after Iranicus has fled. I got a message that now my character can change into the slayer at will. Is there a drawback to doing this? That is, is there a number of times after which if I change something bad happens? Is there a risk of attacking the rest of my team? On a separate subject: Is it better to go with the captain who brought me or take the portal to the underworld? Is there a way to continue out from the underworld or do you have to come back to the Asylum? Any help would be appreciated.

You will lose 2 reputation points each time you turn into slayer. So, if you use the slayer form some times, some of NPC will become unhappy. I am not sure weather you will attack your party or not, because I never use the slayer form (yet!).

About leaving Asylum, I recommend to go with the captain, so you can visit the Sahuagin City. You can go straight into the Underworld using Irenicus's portal in the Asylum, but in this way you cannot visit the Sahuagin City. Either way, once you leave the Asylum, you cannot come back.

Thanks Minerva. I appreciate your help. About missing out on the Sahuagin City, I can see your point. However, if you go with the captain do you then miss out on going to the underworld or is there another way there? If not, is one better than the other?

You will go to Underdark from the Sahuagin City, don't worry. Underdark is a part of main story, and only from there you can come back to main land surface.

Thanks again Minerva. I guess I'll follow the captain. Wouldn't want to miss anything.

I didn't get the Slayer Change message until after I slept the first time I fought Irenicus in the Asylum. If you've already done that, Skynx, check your "special abilities button" you might have missed the message.

Sometimes the slayer change message comes a little bit later in the game.

If you have a sh*tload of money you can give them to a temple so that you can raise your rep. so much that you can use the Slayer abillity more(mind flayers really don't like this guy) The mindF. dungeon can be cleared out in 10-15 min. Sweet!

You'll change into the slayer automatically if you rest at any time while still in Spellhold. Once you leave and rest, you should have a dream sequence, and then you're able to change at will. Besides getting to leave your righteous bootprint on the arse of evilness, you'll lose 2 rep points every time you change. If you absolutely can't stand Jaheira constantly blithering on about balance and whatnot, reducing your reputation a bit will hush her up.

But if you stay too long in your Slayer-form you'll die.
