Thieves Guild question (SPOILERS)

OK. This is a question for all you thiefs out there (Shadowfoot or further)

I am at the rank of Shadowfoot and am doing quests for the gray fox.

I am looking for an arrow at some mages place

I found the caves with all the monsters

I kiled them all but heres the thing

i look on the map and theres this wall i cant get through and it says you can walk right into it. i go underwater and look for the passage except wheenver i go down i always seem to go to outside inside abig lake and i swim back up after unlocking a door

There is also a door inside the caves but it wont open because it needs a key.

My question is:

How do you get through that wall inside that big puddle of watter

or

where do I get the key?

Just as the sticky thread thoughtfully entitled HEY, YOU, at the top of the forum so you'll read it states, this kind of thread is supposed to have SPOILER in its title. I'll change this one. You need to do the others in the future, yourself.

I also changed your title, itself. "Help, I'm Lost" isn't going to bring people to your thread who have your answer, but it will bring people to your thread like the one who complained to me about the giveaway content.

Is the big puddle of water you're talking about the one with the giant slaughterfish at the very bottom? If so, I know where you are stuck.

In the water, go down facing the direction of the path. Make sure you scan all the way as you go down. It's rather close to the top, relatively speaking. From there, everything should be straightforward.

Another way to do it is to go out of the city and walk south a bit and there will be some ruins that you will find and it's in there, I don't remember what its called though. Its actually in the ruins and not in the dungean or whatever. If you'd rather not backtrack you can just use the councel command "unlock" on the door and walk though and fight more of whatever those people are called that the mages guild hates. Plus if your in the mages guild **spoiler** you will be kicked out for killing that guy there or you will have to run up to where he has everything and just take it quick and just run out of the whole area and away from the creatures and everything.

yes pillage that is the spot i was talking about, however your reply did not help!!

as for the other post below that one i havent a clue of which city you are speaking of. i appreciate the help, everyone.

Allways look at the map in those situations, it usually shows paths you can not see. Just below the water surface it's a tunnel in the stone wall. I don't remember exactly how deep but if you look at the map to see the direction and then go down along the wall you can't miss it.

heres what i see:

Two holes you can go into (When at the surface)

On the map, it says you are able to walk into the tunnel however I always find a door and it leads me outside into a large lake.

(I am Khajjit or whatever so the water breathing spell is all I have.)

-(stillodium)I have attempted your idea before and it always leads me to the same place. Am I supposed to go down so far that I am at the giant serpent thing? THat's where I usually end up, and I cant find another tunnel besides the one that has the door with the 'Very Easy' lock and will lead me outside. When I go up to the surface after going in that door, I will end up in the middle of a lake, and according to the map, it says I am near an island. When I swim to the island there is a fort there. After that I just reloaded my other game and looked around.

I know that once I find where I am suposed to go I will feel like an idiot.

hmmm... I am playing on the xbox 360. You are in the correct location but there i seem to get lost, ill examine your pictures more. thanks for all your help

The city that I was refering about was the one with the castle in it. I talked to some people and found out that the secret path led to some abandon ruins that he was at so I just used logic and went south of the city to find it because as like you I wasn't able to find the path under the water. Looked about 10 times and died. Sorry for the confusion.

Use the GB Thieves Guild walkthru

The GameBanshee walkthru tells you all you need to know. There is another tunnel in that underground pool. Don't go all the way down to the bottom, just go down a little ways using your map to find the submerged tunnel. Its only a few feet down from the surface.
