How do I buy a horse?

I'm at the Chestnut Handy Stables, with an orc, a stablehand and a man in the stables, none of whom give me the option of buying a horse. I know I could steal one but I'd prefer to do things above board, at least for now.....

Talk more with the people there and you'd find something out. They don't sell horses anymore at the Chestnut Handy Stables. See if you can find out why.

I know the orc is eating the horses.....so where can I go to buy one?

any other stable outside any other city will sell horses. talk to whoever is in charge (the stable hands normally point you in the right direction), and they will offer you a horse for a certain price

If you want a cheap horse, go to the stable outside the West end of Imperial City. Painted Horses are about 500 coins.
