Case of the disappearing Fathien

Greetings,
me = first time poster but still bein serious. i have an annoying problem relating to the fathien argalia finding dealy. the guy that drops the fathien keep key has disappeared, which sucks cause i wanted to kill him, get his key, and finish the level and also snag me a soul stone from the wraith. does anyone have any suggestions as to how i could get around this prob without loading from a previous game? (which i can do but it jus sucks to do it all again...a bit)

He's hiding out in a stairwell beyond the fathien entrance door. From the room where he went through the wall, go up the stairs and bear right and down the other stairs. Make your way past the entrance. With your map on, you'll see some movement in a stairwell. Just go get him.
