Question about loading the expansions.

Post by magicpac »

I'm just getting started with Morrowwind, level 9, I think. I have the expansions with my set. Is it best to load the expansions at the first or wait until you are ready to play them? I'm not near ready to play them, because I want to finish the main quest, but are there perks to loading the expansion? Will it help with the Morrowwind part? I haven't figured out the CS yet, either, so I can't delete out of my journal entries. Is that one of the perks with the expansions? I thought I saw that somewhere in the forum.

Installing the expansions is a really good idea:

1. The journal becomes *much* simpler to use
2. You get the ability to annotate your local map
3. There are some excellent mods out there that are Tribunal and/or Bloodmoon dependent.

Getting an error now

Well, I loaded the expansions to Morrowwind... First Tribunal and then Bloodmoon. Now I getting an error and I'm not sure where to look. I went out and grabbed the two fixes and loaded them too. The error says...

Failed to load snowflake: Meshes\BM_Snow_01.nif.

Where do I go to fix this?

"The Two Fixes" ?
Are you referring to both the Tribunal and Bloodmoon patches?

Ummm... if so, this might be the source of your problem. I think I've read somewhere that if you install Bloodmoon over Tribunal, you should only be installing the Bloodmoon patch....
Could be wrong though.... I'm not a techie...

When you installed the expansions (from the cd's), did you install Tribunal first (You need to)?

I think thats what Dragon Wench is refering to. :)

The fixes

Yep. The fixes were the problem. I acutally read enough after posting to figure it out so I unintalled all of it, saving my saved files, and re-installed Morrowwind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon in order with no patches. Works great! I love the Journal now and the colors!!! Wow! The scenes look so much more clear. Thanks for suggesting it.

Now you can install the Bloodmoonpatch. It's the latest patch and has the contents of the other patches as well.
Happy gaming.

Who developed and published the game? ;) Go check their website.
