turning off histories?

Post by Flash[pl] »

Hi! Im playing 3rd time thourgh Bloodlines now and I found this forum very helpfull when i was learning the game secrets :) . I have patch 2.2 and decided to play now (tremere, ventrue before) as an Anda Gangrel. I believe i have some knowlege after last games how many xp points I can gather. Im at the end of Santa Monica quests and realised I will have more than enough xp for animalism. It would be usefull because of my no guns build. Anyway, the question is: is there any way to turn off history- change it to none? Typing "vchar_edit_histories 0" turn off history description but pros and cons stays.

Pls help, I dont want to start game all over again

The vchar_edit_histories command simply enables or disables the history selection drop-down box at character creation. The two relevant commands you're looking for are vhistories and vhistory.

Entering vhistories at the console will show you a list of all the histories available to your character. Note that even with the console, clan and gender restrictions still apply. Each history will have a number preceding it's name.

To change your history, use the vhistory command. Enter vhistory followed by the number of the history in the list produced by the vhistories command. You'll notice that the option for "none" doesn't appear in the vhisotires list. To reset your character back to having no history at all, enter the command vhistory none

Oh, before I forget, there is one last caveat: I do not recommend changing history in the middle of an active game. I have done this before, and lost inventory items as a consequence, including some quest items. Save your game before editing your histories with the console.

Ok, thx very much

edit: It worked without a problem. The only item I could lost was keys, so I waited for the moment to use them all and turned off history easily. Im very fond of it because I will really need animalism. Without it I wouldnt have any range skill.
