female voice?

Post by Luther »

I just started playing Oblivion and have a few questions for the veterans. I haven't been able to figure this out yet. I have a female character but her voice is a man's voice. Was there somewhere I missed that picks the voice? If so, anyone know how I can change this?

Haha, yes, someone please explain this to me too, as I also have a female character, and when she fights she sounds like a guy.

hmm i'm really not sure, but unless its a bug maybe its jsut harder to notice. The female voice when its attacking can sound a tad "manly" but if you were fighting and making oof sounds etc, they tend to be a bit deeper i think. hard to say without hearing exactly what you are@@ Unforuntly as per usual in alot of games, the female characters kinda get the short end of the stick=/ like the lower part of the face...its a bit broad for a female no matter what you do.

It's a bit goofy but I guess I can live with it. Sounds like a job for the modders. One thing about Oblivion is that there are literally hundreds of little options to rearrange your face but no options for the body! I wasn't trying to make some playboy model or anything, but the females look like drag queens practically. Especially wearing a dress. Their shoulders are just way too broad. After all the face work, I still did not get the look exactly how I wanted it, and the hair choices were all very poor. But other than that I'm digging this game so far! I skipped Morrowwind but I'm an ex-Daggerfall player believe or not so it's all coming back.

yeha i knwo exactly what you mean...thankfully they didnt make the fem char with HUGE breasts or anything at least. Deinflty annoying you cna tweak so amny aspects of the face. and yet very few hairtyles or eye colors. I ended up using random till i found one that wasnt to manly..and tweaked the chin a bit. It looks like the upper part is feminine(kinda) but the bottom half of the face they didnt even bother with.

And I have the girliest-looking Dark-Elf male you ever saw...

You CAN alter the jaw-line to feminine. The slider for Wide-Narrow Jaw fixes it fine. Also, use Light Features-Heavy Features slider to a position that pleases you.
But bear in mind that all races have defining facial characteristics that it is not possible to eliminate completely: High and Dark Elves have long faces, but Imperials tend to roundness of face, for example.

Hi! I'm an ex-Daggerfall player too! Loved that game to bits! The dungeons terrified me - things crept up on you from behind...

Sorry to bump up such an old topic.
I love the Argonian voices, they really sound lizard-like, but my Argonian PC sounds like what you described. Nothing lizard-like at all. Any way to solve this?
