FEAR (First Encounter Assault Recon)

To me, FEAR is the scariest game I've played in my life. The spooky little girl, Alma is the fear factor of the game. Always scared the wits out of me whenever I see her either waltzing past me or walking towards me before the screen blacks out.

Also, the environments are also designed to scare the wits out of you whenever you enter a new section. Props to Monolith Productions Inc. for creating one of the greatest game out there.

It takes a lot for a game (or movie) to scare me, but I always found Project Zero (I think it has a different name in the US) on the PS2 to be pretty scary - especially if played alone in the middle of the night with no lights on lol.

Doom 3 is nice. I've bought it and I only regret that the "boo jokes" get tiresome at the end of the game. I used to play it during the night, alone, with a headphone and all lights out (I live in the farm, so you see, its quite quiet). In the beggining I felt VERY bad about the game, after the hell stage things just get too repetitive. Ah, and Resurrection of Evil is nice as well, just too short and the way to kill the bosses (shoot this way and do this) kinda bothers me. I dont think anyone (not even me) should be granted invulnerability for periods of time, specially against rockets and lasers and plasma.

I look forward to play FEAR, which seem to be the most promissing game after doom 3. One thing you can say about doom is that it plunges you into a very nice atmosphere of fear, and specially in the first time you hear someone scream help me in a dark alley it makes you jump cause you feel inside the game. A friend said FEAR is that way, so I'm up to try it.

I've never heard of Fear - is it a new release or has it been around a while?

She's got a smile that, it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories, where everything is as fresh as the bright blue sky.

And here I was going to say Barney's Round and Round We Go was the scariest game ever. There's something about a fuschia dinosaur that gives me the heebie geebies.

I haven't really encountered any "scary" games, mostly because it's hard to scare me. But it's easy to startle me, which is kind of weird. I could be playing something simple and suddenly something pops up in front of me, and I'll jump. The only "scary" element to any game I ever encountered which definitely did it for me is the Cradle in Thief: Deadly Shadows. That level, from start to shortly before you leave, is just downright creepy. Strangely, the first time I played it, it freaked me out; the second time I played it, knowing what I was getting into, it freaked me out even more. :speech:

The game FEAR has been around for a few months. Released back in October 2005. If you want more information, I suggest heading to the link posted below.

Well if we're allowed to go with console games I'll say the Gamecube Resident Evil just because there was nothing freakier than with zero health knowing I have to backtrack through a room where I didn't light the corpses on fire... Can anybody say Jesse Owens-fast blood-red zombie blocking the path? :speech:

Otherwise I too will go with FEAR, it was an amazing game.

Half life 2 in ravenholm. Pretty freaky. But so fun ripping monsters apart with chainsaws and grav guns.

Scariest game?

Well, depends on how you define scary.

I'll go the classical way.

Pacman. C'mon! The yellow circle only wants some munchie dots and fruit here and there, but nope. He HAS to be chased by ghosts, very colorful ghosts. I'm thinking the ghosts are just a split up of "Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat."
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Clive Barker's Undying demo was so scary I didn't want to pick up the real game.

Seriously, I couldn't play it with lights off.

theres a game called Eternal Darkness....its not scary in terms of watch out! or where did that come from!......but more like the screen goes blank all of a sudden or when your trying to save it will shut of or pretend to erase it.....now thats scary :(
Wondering how vampires live the life they live.....
