Guys - this may be a noob ?; I'm not sure as I haven't tested it
On my 4th replay, and my defacto weapon is the Great Soulsword.
I was wondering, do you get better results using a "light" weapon; such as Avo's Tear.
Reason I ask, I'm using a 82dmg cleaver now, it's light and it seems my guy swings it like a cuisinart ... vs the heavier weapons available
Now, if I pump up my physique + speed(..skill), does he really swing it(... or whatever best Light weapon available) like mad OR is it better once you're really strong and have speed maxed, to use the Great Soulsword ... or would Avo's Tear and it's "LIght" rating compensate by delivering more blows.
Did the above make sense
Wondering if Light vs Heavy matters ... or once you reach strength/speed max, it's best to go heavy with higher damage ?
Never really thought of using a lighter weapon ... the thought hit me on this replay using a katana and all the decapitations
I use no shield or block because of my limited manual dexterity ... I just swing for the fences and go with the "best defense is a good offense" therory
Your opinions ... what do you guys use ... what seems to work the best etc
Thanks guys !

If you don't block I suggest you use a light weapon. Since you don't block a heavy weapon will probably do more bad than good (lots of enemys are faster...). Use a light weapon with max physique and speed and you will do more than enough damage. By the way, Avo's tear and the sword of aeons are light, have a long range AND are stronger than most heavy weapons. Just use one of them...

TLC, you just read my mind. I don't really like to use heavy weapons because of its slow movement and very easy to get hit a lot. Light weapons to me is a lot faster and more flexible.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Depends on the enemy
Hello.
Like I said, it really depends on the enemy, when you encounter slow (or extremely weak) foes it is best to use a Heavy Weapon such as the Solus Greatsword (Best weapon in the game if you look at the damage). Because you will clearly see when slow foes are going to attack and thus can do a sideroll to avoid getting hit, they will miss you AND you will now be in a good position to unleash a couple of hits followed by a flourish attack, fou you will be behind their back (example: those huge undead monsters or those SLOW club-wielding-ice zombies at the Northen Wastes)... Same goes for weak foes (such as the weakest type of the undead or the weak type of bandits) who will die the first time you hit them, and because most creatures first use some sort of expression (to show you their anger towards you), giving you an attack advantage of being the first one to strike, you will certainly be able to get rid of groups of such weak creatures within few seconds...
But I have noticed that if you have your flourish active you can hack through most enemies without much trouble (since executing such moves as a 180 degree spin with your weapon will trow foes off on one of the sides and give you some time to do the same with the ones that haven't got hit yet). It is also very havdy using a well mixed combination of attack and defence with Heavy Weapons, if you ever practiced fancing or ever watched it you understand... It's all about attack advantage... Heavy weapons are useless when you are stuck without attack advantage and surrounded, in fact I believe that the primary rule of Melee Weapon combat consists of keeping your foes where you can see them (thus, on one siede, not getting surrounded). If you are fighting in a corridor Heavy Weapon will easily clear the path for you as your foes won't have a chance to flank you and will stay right in front of you: where Heavy weapons work best... Oh, and finally: If you use a nice combo of Multi Strike, Assasin rush, defence and attack you will leave most foes confused and dead within a matter of seconds, Assasin Rush is a GREAT spell!
As for Light Weapons they are best used on ballanced foes (such as the stronger type of bandits or assasins) who won't go down in one hit and have a speedy combo of attacking wich is not that easy to dodge (and not so easy to Parry either due to the reaction speed of you character). One of the main advantages of Light Weapons is that they sometimes give you the possibility to continue after you have lost your attack advantage (that is: missing your enemy, usually by hitting too early) with a further attack combo.
Conclusion: Every situation is different and needs a different approach, just keep in mind that power and speed are just 2 units of a much complicated net made of strategies, attack combinations and mixes of different aspects. A true method of fighting consists of mixing magic, skills, spells, combination, you name it... A hybrid will triumph over a pure fighter for he is unpredictable and covers all, thus also the weak aspects of the pure!
This occurs everywhere, not just Fable, not just Games, but life too...

Guys - thanks !!!
Unfortunately, I'm unable to do the block/roll thing; I can't hit all the required hotkeys.
My physical disability makes hotkeying a hazzrd
I will look into Assassin Rush.
I have to take my eyes off the screen if I need to hotkey.
My best method, or the one that has worked is to basically "plow ahead" OR "swing in an arc(...if surrounded)".
That and run away to the nearest gate to regroup
I have the spell/fight sequence down to my liking ... Enflame saved me more than once + I just have to keep hitting 2 hotkeys and it really doesn't matter if I'm looking at the scren ... love those area spells
As for Sword of Aeons .. I did notice the damage, but I never kill sis, so I see no way of getting it :-(
Guess I'll look for the best light weapon till Avo's Tear.
Took me 4 plays to figure something might be up with Light vs Heavy = I'm a slow learner
Thanks for all your help.
Was trying to access the equip database ... seems gamebanshee is funky now ?
I will look over the early light weapon options when I get a chance = see when I can get a good light weapon as early as possible
Forget the Cutlass Bluetane = I just can't get to 14 ... I used up all my Will potions on about 10 runs; best I did was 12

Legend vs. Legend
Just another note: The sword of Aeons and Avo's Tear are absolutly equal (in TLC, wich I posses), so you will just need to decide wether you want to become more evil or more good...
But the real Light Weapon struggle is the one of the Katana of Hiryu... It's damage is only 15 points lower then that one of Avo's Tear and the sword of Aeons, but it has the sharpening and flame augmentations wich cover up those 15 missing points! In fact, it even does more damage!!!
The sword of Aeons and Avo's Tear benefict the defensive abilities while the Katane does more damage. I personally think that defensive benificts should be something done by armour and that weapons should be enchanched with damage increasing rather then forfilling the job of armour...
Besides, if you're good at combat you won't need stuff like mana augmentation or exp augmentation... So if you ask me the Katana is a better combat weapon the only drawback is that it is much shorter then the SOA or the TOA... "I can only show you the door Neo, but it will be up to you to walk through it..."

Project404 - thanks.
Yes, I believe that's in Lady Grey's chest ?
I never have the keys; I believe it's 15 ?
Anyways, I think I'll use.....> Master Longsword > Harbinger > Avo's Tears
Have to pump up those Physical stats = will need the Harbinger in the arena
I did notice I got whacked more with the Cleaver.
Maybe the extra length with the swords will offset the damage + of the Hiryu ?
Thanks Guys !
