Chameleon effect on self

Post by BadBreath »

Hello,

I just enchanted some of my armour with the Chameleon effect. All is well, for one thing... I don't like the effect it gives me in 1st person mode! My sword and shield show up as completely 'chameleonised' (for lack of a better word). Is there a mod, that removes that effect on myself?

I do love the effect on my enemies, the first time I saw it, or rather didn't see it :) my jaw dropped.

I seem to recall Compleat Enchanter removing this effect. Let me check.

Yes, it removes that annoying chameleon refraction. I think the modder leaves a small touch of it in place, but just enough so you know you're affected by it. That's all. Should be available either at PlanetElderScroll (a good first choice) or TESSource.

Most important is if the chameleon effect actually gives any advantage, since it didn't seem to make any difference to me in both sneak, 'non-sneak' and combat mode.

I downloaded the mod, now I'm gonna see if I can just remove the chameleon effect.

Thanks!

No, it's just the visual effect on his character that BadBreath is concerned about, and that was my concern, too. I hated not being able to see my weapon. Compleat Enchanter fixed that, but you still have the chameleon effect on you.

You could always, like unequip the item, and then equip it? You get the text message and everything. You still can't see it, but it's definitely there.

Oh, my! I have three items that give me a grand total of 95% Chameleon. And, I can definitely tell a difference in how others respond/don't respond to me.

I think the major thing is to move slowly -- or don't move at all -- when they're very close.
