Bound Longbow that won't go away!

Post by Damn Snakes! »

ok, I read on this forum that a good spell for an exquisite belt or ring is the bound longbow... with a constant effect (and +10 on marksman) - just wear the ring or belt and voila! you have the best bow in the game! anyhoo... I did this and used the bow quite a bit (for those beetles and cliff racers while they are still along way off) - well later, I try to sell it by accident and the console says you can't sell 'bound items' - later, I take the 'exquisite belt of bow' off to wear another sanguine belt and the bow is still in my inventory... it still adds 10 points to marksman when I use it... everything is the same... I have the bow, and I am not wearing the belt!!! sooo... is this normal? can I have say... bound boots like this? bound sword? anybody know?

This is a fairly well known bug, and not one I'm inclined to complain about either :D

Bound items do indeed have the habit of staying around even after you remove the items they're associated with. My present character has both a bound longbow and a bound mace in her possession, but the belt that was originally enchanted with their bound spells is tucked away in her closet somewhere. :p

That sounds like quite a nice bug to get :) I wouldn't worry too much about it as bound items weigh nothing anyway so its not really going to cause a problem by staying in your inventory.

I suspect that if you have the bound item repaired, or try to sell it.... this might trigger the bug.

I am just speculating, though, I haven't actually tested it out.
