Vampire Specifics - Spoilers maybe - so don't bother reading if u don't like spoilers
If this has been posted before I apoligize but I searched and got zero.
So here goes - after awhile I found out I could become a vamp
But haven't found out how; how to get my self afflicted with the curse, how to cure it or what I do with the power of a vampire since i'm a day person.
But now - with my battlemage in which i tend to use destruction spells as my combat sucks eggs - I want the power :mischief:
I squeeze every single thing out of every single thing when playing an RPG game and have thus so far done in Oblivion.
But hopefully not with this new guy.
I have a perfect character in mind - breton short-sword wielding spellcasting that uses clothing - basically a shmo  But honestly, I want an average character with one pecularity - he's a bloodsucker :mischief:
So I'd like some specifics from others about 'the vampire process' and everything entailed in oblivion.
Posts appreciated.

Becoming a vampire is relatively simple. All you have to do is...
Fight some vampires.
They're all over the place. Caves, Forts, everywhere. Specifically, you can easily become a vampire by doing the Azura's Shrine quest.
Hope you feel that the advantages of being a bloodsucker outweigh the weaknesses.

I know everything about Morrowind.
Everything.
Everything.
To make sure you become one when fighting the vamps you must contract the disease "Prophilic Heamophilia" (Its named somthing along those lines, I could be wrong), and then sleep for 3 days.
And lo ye must learn of the great war that raged fo a couple of posts and brought the citadel momentaraly to its knees
Lookie!
I tend to appear briefly and disappear very quickly after that, try not to let it bother you.

Actually, just to clarify the previous statement.
If you are trying to become a vampire and have contracted Poraphic Hemophelia, allow 3 game days to pass (this can happen over the course of playing, or as previously stated you could Sleep for 3 straight days, or even Wait for 3 straight days), and then sleep. Once the 3 game days have passed, and you have rested, a quest message will pop up indicating that you have fully contracted Vampirism.
If on the other hand, you are trying NOT to become a vampire after contracting Poraphic Hemophelia, you simply need to visit a Church and pray at the altar before sleeping after those 3 game days have passed.
I'm sorry, I'm not normally a spelling Nazi, but this was bugging the hell out of me.
It's Porphyric Hemophilia.
It should be spelled Porphyrric Haemophilia. A slightly more archaic version of the American spelling, but more correct. Sorry, but medical training in Canada in the late '70s. Mostly British spellings back then.
you could fight a vampire or if you do the dark brotherhood quests you'll have the option to become one eventually
Had the option - didn't take it. Maybe next time around... And it's funny, because up here we call "Canadian Bacon" Ham.

to expand more on the autuall proccess of being a vampire:
30 seconds of night eye and detect life over a large area-small mana cost
high magnitute charm spell for 20 seconds-very helpful for getting people to talk to you as a full vampire
Slience and demorlize opponents around you-very helpful for fire weilding mages
3 minutes of invisibility and 90 seconds of night eye!!!!-awsome for escaping combat when theres just too many people for even you, to fight.
sleep away the daylight-another reason to be in a gild is a good place to sleep which brings us too...
Use a gild vendor-they'll be most likely to still trade with you even though your a vampire
Know your limits!-You may be a awsome vampire but u can be killed! watch out especally for fire weilding enimes and rember your embrace of shadows and reign of terror.
Hope this was helpfull
INTRO
after you wake up as a vampire you'll notice your character looks slightly different: red eyes, pale skin, ect. you'll also have +5 bonuses to str, willpower, and speed and +5 to acrobatics,destruction,athlectics,destruction,Hand-to-hand, illusion, mysticism and sneak. you get a small resistance to normal wepons and resistance to disease and paralysis and a small weakness to fireTHE GOOD
This is vampire levle one. there are four levles. every day you go with out feeding you'll go to the next level of vampirism gaining another +5 to the above skills and attributes and adds to the resistance to normal wepons as well. You'll also gain a new skill. Ill go over those later.THE BAD
Every day you go without feeding youll also have an increased weakness to fire. if you've fed in the last 24 hours your safe from the sun. any longer than that and you'll start burning and each day that passes with no feedeing that damage will be increased. clouds or rain will decrease the damage some as will being under water. Also for every day you go without feeding you become slightly more vampire-ish. Your face becomes gaunt, your eyes become bright red, and your teeth turn to fangs. Eventually other people will start to notice and refuse to talk or do busness with you. Being in a gild is a good idea as they will qute possible be the only vendors willing to talk to you.POWERS
Day one: Hunter's sight

TIPS
Dont fast travel-you never know if you'll end up at your destination during day time and that suckssleep away the daylight-another reason to be in a gild is a good place to sleep which brings us too...
Yes, just feed on a regular basis. The disease advances when you stop feeding.
However if you don't feed you can stop the disease from advancing by just not sleeping or waiting, I had it for 3 days in my newest file and didn't bite a single neck and it didn't advance at all.
