thief in Davermor's castle?

im on my second visit 2 Forgrove after lock down....I can t find the thief in the castle the one that drops the black key to open the bottom dungeon

...Can any1 tell me where is this thief is wanderin around...Almost forgot playin the CE version

I've never actually talked to the thief, but my understanding is that he's only there after the lockdown starts and until you've rescued Davenmor. Since you said you're on your second visit to Fargrove after the lockdown, maybe he's not there any more. Otherwise, he should be in the moat somewhere.

Before actually going inside the castle, jump down in the mote in front and the thief is there in the water, toward where the ladder brings you back up to where you exited the library at the start of the game.

Thz guys....always was lookin for that thief inside the castle and all along he was outside :laugh:
