Sterwick campaign - The game thread (NO SPAM!!)
"Well that is one farewell I appreciated" said Kazar gruffly, quickly pocketing the already overspilling coins into his pockets he then relised that he could actually spend them "where is the nearest stables?" he asked excitedly, ignoring their little creepy moment of recognising the mysterious insignia
One of the dwarves answer, "A stable? What kind o' dwarf needs a horse?! Anyways, yere in the middle of th' wilderness, there are no stables between here and Isthar. You'll just have to walk back and get yerself a horsie thar."
"Well, many thanks for the warning. I've had my shares of those goblins too. My travelling band, right after leaving Isthar, we had some encounters with them...."
"It's kindda ironic though. I believe it was near a small mining village when we were attacked. Our party got separated back then. Those goblins probably was raiding the mine for its gems....rubies and the likes..."
Halgrath tried letting it slipped hoping to get a clue on the gem he and Kron was supposed to retrieve. Besides, that may lead to more clue on where they are. Although, it could be a double-edged gamble....
"Ye want gems? Funny, I never took ye for the jewellry mercant type...
'sides, this is a metal mining town, not some namby-pamby ruby town! Anyways, I don't know that much about these raids, other than they happen.
Maybe the guards or t'mayor know more...or ye'd hope."

The white-haired man yawns, and realizes that he's been sitting in that dark corner for most of the day. Setting his face into the perpetual frown the people who know him have become accostumed to seeing all the time, he stands up and walks out, taking a way that leads him close to the priest. He manages to catch the priest's eye for a short moment, and disappears through the door.
OOC: maxii1, you'll have better luck trying the other topic we have for the Sterwick campaign, namely "Rule discussion and Joining" Also, try just asking before you jump in like that... This will be considered rude... so do not reply here anymore unless you are accepted in.

OOC: I talked to Maxii before and said I'm not letting anyone else into the campaign due to the amount of people in it for now.
Slade won't likely be around for a while, so I'll be controlling his character for now (Gahh, I write out my Paladin, so I have fewer characters to control and end up back at square 1... )
And I'm setting up the next part for Yepi (Sess + Sterwick too) which will lead to the introduction of the two new characters.
Other than that, I'll wait on darkwolf's next step, unless Az or DJV post something that requires an answer from me.
Sorry about my vagueness regarding Thorpedene, hopefully, that's not too much of a hindrance on any decisions for your next moves.

"Jewelry merchant? Ha ha, that's a good one! I see I have mistaken you for a guard too" Halgrath relaxed a bit at hearing that.
"Nah, my faith does not encourage such interest though. I was merely curious about what happened back then. Perhaps i will check will the guards again."
As he moves towards the door, Halgrath perhaps sense someone watching him, but turning around he saw no one.

Kron watched as the stranger left the tavern. He had tried to be inconspicious, however as a young Drow, he had learnt the true ways of stalking and observing. This man either knew something valuable, and could help them, or he now knew something important, and would hurt them. Glancing at Halgrath, Kron knew that he would be okay, the real problem was the stranger.
Rising carefully, Kron made sure not to draw attention to himself, especially avoiding Halgrath, Kron left the establishment to follow the man. Keeping close, he gradually gained on the man, until as we was right behind him, when he loaded his crossbow. "Stop at once, or your knee becomes crossbow fodder."

In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
The white-haired man stopped immediately. His first thought was that it was a thug out for his money, but the voice contained too much intelligence for that to be plausible. Was it the priest? No, he would've heard someone like that. A companion of the priest's, perhaps? His mind racing through different possibilities, he slowly started turning to the man. Something in his accent had disturbed him...

"Thankyou, that was not hard at all, was it? Now start talking, who are you, and why were you interested in what that man was speaking about earlier in the tavern?"
Kron was making sure that he did not drop names or professions, in case this situation somehow turned sour.

The white-haired man narrowed his eyes and studied the hooded man. Judging by what he said, he was a companion of the priest's. Unsure of what kind of person he was, he decided to be careful, lest he the man proved well-equipped for battle.
"A stranger is always interesting around here." he said, peering into the somehow darker than natural shadows under the hood. "Especially when the stranger is an odd priest with an interest in jewelry." He hoped that was enough for the man to lower his crossbow.

"Not as interesting as a man in the street with a crossbow protuding from his eye socket. What do you know about jewellry, and why were you so interested in that man back there? If you have something or some means of helping, speak now."
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
"Means of helping?" he was surprised. He had been ready to believe that they were thieves plannig to steal something, but he couldn't believe this man would be stupid enough to ask a complete stranger for help in something like that. He narrowed his eyes. On the other hand, it could be some form of trap. "Just what jewelry are you after?"

@Kazar, you, Sess and Sterwick are still trampling through the wilderness continuing to retrace Sterwick's footsteps.
You manage to spot the threat before the others do, a hobgoblin, an orc and 2 beasts similar to the one in the cave. The hobgoblin is the most hidden of the four, you were lucky to see him.
They're too far away for you to reach and attack, though you could still get up to them and surprise them if you want. Post your init roll and action.

"Heh. I see my question shocked you. However not as shocking as a well placed magic missile can be to an ignorant person. I would rather not go into details, but as the man said, we do not know where we are, and for reasons beyond our control, we seek a jewel. Now, if you have anything of value you can contribute, I would be grateful. However if you cannot help, well, I can't let the ignorant wander the world with secrets."
OOC: Az, I'm just trying to speed it up, rather than bog this thread with dialogue. I know it kinda removes some of the role play, but I'd rather this didn't become an extremely long dialogue piece.

Still suspicious, though now more curious than before, the white-haired man quickly weighed his options.
"Fine. I can help... I've been stuck here for longer than anyone should." he still watched the man though, ready to jump aside if he should decide to shoot anyway.
OOC: True enough No problem

OOC: Feel free to use this thread (http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showt ... 71&page=14) if you want to go into more dialogue, it's been inactive for long enough as it is...
Ok, as for this battle...
Sess and Sterwick also draw their weapons, though they cannot see the hobgoblin from their position. Your enemies, who are already armed take the opportunity to advance on your position.
First Round

First Round
- Sterwick draws his bow and aims at one of the Krenshar, he struggles with his difficult bow and his arrow falls just short.
- Sess closes with the other Krenshar and delivers a mighty swing of his sword, causing a large gash on the creature's side.
- The hobgoblin leaps out and surprises Sess and manages to hit him with downward sweep of his axe.
- One of the Krenshar bounds after he who would dare to attack him with arrows, he tries to bite Sterwick but comes short.
- The other Krenshar attacks Sess, trying to bite him and slash with some sharp looking claws. Though most of these attacks miss, one set of claws deal a nasty gash to Sess.
- Now the orc comes into play focusing on the one person who has been unchallenged thus far, however, the orc's falchion fails to connect with Kazar.
Oblivious to what was taking place behind him, Halgrath walked towards the guard post earlier. He might be able to ask about the goblins from the guard. Failing that he might seeks the mayor. It occured to him an hour or two must have already passed, but he was sure the drow is still keeping out of sight on the outskirt of the town.
As he aproaches the post, Halrath asked "Excuse my sir. It is I again again. Do you have a moment to spare?"
Yay! Things are more lively for now...can't resist saying that

Kron was pleased. The man had said he had been here for quite awhile, this could become quite a valuable gain, this information could save their lives. "So, what is your name, stranger?" He unstrung the crossbow and hit it from view again, ready to use spells if necessary.
OOC: Oh, I wasn't aware that the dialogue thread could be used for mid-game dialogue, I thought that was just a bit of fun before Kipi was ready.
In that case, for future long discussions, I'll be sure to use that, though it's too late for this one.

"I am Lucifer." he said even as he noted that the other was still somewhat tense... he thought it was a good sign. Trusting someone just because they say they are trustworthy is never a good idea.
