Problems getting the orders for the last I.Legion quest in Ald'Ruhn fort

Post by mr_sir »

For some reason, when I click on orders to get the last Imperial Legion quest in the fort outside Ald'Ruhn, the woman just tells me she wants me to bring her a maiden's token. That's it. No explanation, no journal update, nothing. I had a look on the walkthrough so I know what I have to do, but how do I get her to actually give me the quest in the first place. I've tried adding the topic but it does not appear. Will just getting the glove without formally being given the quest work? If not, does anyone know how to activate the quest using the console?

Thanks.

Edit: In case it has anything to do with a mod, I have the following mods installed - Unofficial Patch, Morrowind Comes Alive, Better Bodies, Pretty Faces, Freelancer, Armorer and Animal Behaviour. I also changed Creeper so he has 200000 gold each day.

I would say the Freelancer mod is the most likely culprit as it edits many of the journal entries/quest topics etc. (Great mod - but I'm working on expanding it a little)

Yeah its the freelancer mod as i loaded it up without that mod just to test it and the topic comes up with no mod. Don't suppose you know how I would go about changing the freelancer mod so it recognises that topic?

Not at the moment no ... the best person to contact would be the mods creator, Tomas, there is an e-mail address in the readme.

They'll be able to clarify if this is a fault of the mod, (to be honest I'm only guessing the most likely culprit), and how to resolve it.

Thanks for your help. I'll try emailling its creator and then I might just go and get the maiden's token and see if she recognises the fact that I have it when I bring it back. If she does then its a problem I can put up with lol. I am tempted to just remove the mod but then I will no doubt have to start again and my character is level 24 so I don't really want to have to do that. I'm pretty certain its that mod though as temporarily disabling it makes the dialogue/journal etc. work how its supposed to work but then it also causes other problems judging by all the warning boxes that come up when I load a save after disabling freelancer lol.

You're welcome ... and like you say if the problem can't be sorted its not so bad that it can't be ignored. If I like a mod (and I really like this one, I always hated feeling like the various guilds b$%^&) I'm usually willing to put up with a few little problems too. ;)

Ok managed to fix it. Not sure if this means that quest is no longer available as freelance work but it doesn't matter as I'm in the Legion anyway. I just changed the criteria used to activate the initial dialogue back to how it was in the morrowind.esm file before the mods and expansions. The conversation works how it should now :)

I do like the mod and this is the only problem I have run into in it.
