Steel Armour

I am faced with a dilemma. I am making a new character going all out hevay knight, compared to before i was a thief wearing light armour. I love the look of the steel armour, but of course it is the second lowest quality or thereabouts. Im wondering if once I get higher level with the ability to make better enchantments if i can make the steel armour good enough to be able to handle the higher level enemies. Any ideas are welcome and thanks for the help.

You can try to enchant it with Shield to make up for the lost armour value. Sigil Stones can have up to 20 pts Shield enchantment. Once your heavy armour skill nears 100, the difference between Daedric and Steel won't be as big anymore (85 is the max AC you can reach anyway).
