Dxun jungle - lightsaber

Post by ekimdoow »

ok right, im not the best player of this game, i get confused often, im not afraid to admit that. But i am enjoying playing it.

basically i went straight from telos to dxun, through the whole being forced to land part. and i was woundering if theres a way i can get myself a lightsaber from this place.

when i go to Bao-Dur he says im missing a lens, now i went to the guy in the ruins who sells lens (well i think he does) and brough a lens from him, but when i go back im still told i have no lens

i have even tried making one on the work bench but he still says the same

do i need a certain lens? because i think the lens i had may be upgrades and thats were im getting confused. but i was woundering if anyone could point me in the right direction of obtaining a lens so i can get hold of my lightsaber.

any response will be appricated. thanks

You're probably right about the lens you have being an upgrade item, in which case you cvan't construct your lightsaber from it.

As I recall, though it has been a while, you can find a lens on Onderon... I can't remember coming acorss one on Dxun, but then I rarely visit it first.

You can construct the lightsaber while in Dxun. I've been there after Telos and that's my first planet when I played the game.

Spoiler so please highlight below:

The lens you're referring to is a key item, not the upgrade. You can the lens from the gut of a cannok. The other piece (can't remember what) you will get it after gaining some trust with Canderous.

Don't feel bad, I too found a lens only to be told I don't have all I need. Then I studied & wrote down the needed items & it hit me.... I need a lens FIXTURE! Basically I read it as needing a lens as you did, but it seems we need to search for something to hold the lens in.
All 3 parts are the housings, not the upgrades.

PS... yes, you can get what you need on Dux. I had it built before meeting any Mandalores

How did you do that? If I recall correctly, I had to (spoiler) meet up with Mandalore to obtain the final lightsaber piece before I can construct my own lightsaber.

Not necessarily- spoiler - highlight to read - thanks Des
Spoiler
You need 3 pieces

1 from Ithorians on Telos
1 or 2 from the planet.

You can also get a piece from Visas if you don't have 3...

Every planet you go to, you can get a lightsaber.

On Dxun, it's inside one of the cannocks which you kill while out questing in the jungle. Just gut every cannock you come across.

Of course, the other piece comes from Visas; no matter what planet you land on first, thios part stays the same. Get off your ship, get back on, and Visas is there. Defeat her for the part.

if you want a quick way to get a lightsaber, go to korriban, i always go there first and make it...korriban is the easiest planet when you have the right skills(gaurdian is easiest)

Hmmm.... I see. Heh heh, I'm always the 'go-by-the-walkthrough' type of person so I did it according to what the walkthrough mentioned and about that
Spoiler
Visas part, I got a lightsaber instead
.

P.S. Shouldn't we black out some of the sentences that sounds like spoiler information? Afraid that we'll get a visit from the moderator sooner or later.

Lookin' for yer Lightsaber fixtures eh Ekimy?

I think Dxun was one of the very first planets I travelled to all those years ago when KOTOR II was new. But yeah, all the parts you need are hidden in the jungle. Make your way into and through the bush gutting all Cannok's as you go. They usually swallow all sorts of items anyway so if you don't find a Lightsaber fixture you'll most probably find something else of use. Once you've cleared out the jungle of any potential threats I'm sure you'll have everything you need - and if not, this means there is still a loose Cannok running about. So, make sure you clear out the jungle the first time 'round. It will save alot of time that way.

If the building is the one I think you mean then you need some specific explosives to open the door - you can get these on Dantooine or Korriban. I don't think there is any lightsaber stuff in though, just a few supplies like mines and average guns etc. Nothing of any real importance.

As all others have pointed out, just gut everything in the forest. You will get the parts needed for your saber. I had Bau in my party, so after the 3rd piece we sat in the woods building a saber. (Not relating your usual campfire ghost stories).

As far as the building you found, Mr Sir hit it on the nose. You need a Throan charge to get in to 2 places in the game, this being one. I won't ruin it by telling you of the other, but will tell you the game says something like "you cannot open this with common explosives"

On that note, I was unable to secure 2 of these heavy charges & had one to choose which to open. I saved my game & opened the other place, got items, then reloaded to see if the items would get better. After 5 openings, it stayed the same & I concluded that the items at the other place were junk. So my 6th reload I came back to Dux & cracked that one open. I was more satisified with the Dux treasure & saved. But that is up to your personal taste as some will beg to differ.

Glad to got the help you needed & I personally hope to see you come back. Good to see the regulars here are not the only ones still playing this great but rushed game.

Good to hear you are saber ready. I believe green is the only one available for the first one, but could be wrong. I usually swing 2 sabers, both long, one in each hand. Build up the 2 weapon fighting skill, light saber focus, & melee weapon focus & you are a mean 2 handed fighting machine.

As for colors I prefer orange & purple. When you hit 'x' to spin your sabers outside of combat it looks real neat :)
