When you reach Gyrmlock in the northern steppes he will have most of the rune spells and rune stones.
You'll need 1 rune spell of a type and multiple rune stones to charge it. Put your curser over a rune spell and it will tell you which rune stones you need and how many for 1 charge. D

If im not mistaken clerics in both Fargrove and Arindale also sell some low level runes. "Rune Strike" is good.

Yes and I think the temple in Fargrove sells rune armor and the mage in Fargrove sells a few stones. D

I have also had problems with rune magic. I can't believe you have to buy 100 of the various stones to get a level one spell to work. i bought 1 of the several stones you can get from Grimlok, the mage in fargrove, and arindale. but the spells won't charge and when i click on them i get a " you're stupid" buzzer. i have rune magic skill points (7) a few of the spells, and like i said 1 of each stone required for the spells. what do i have to do? i'm using version 1.1 upgraded to 1.4 i believe.
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Each stone stores up tp 100 mana (or whatever the game calls it). You don't need to buy 100 stones.

It's been a while since I played, but if you hover the mouse over the spell, doesn't the interface list the rune requirements? That seems to be the best way to check what you're missing.

Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."
