Hey guys, can you help me out?

Which skills are easy to level up and how?

Go for anything combat wise. You'll be doing a lot of combat, so I recommend those.

Maybe-

Destruction, Mysticism, Restoration, Blunt, Block, Light Armor, Blade.

That could prove usefull to you, lest of course, you plan on not fighting that much throughout the game.

It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Hmm

Well, I'm planning on making an uber character (level 53, as high as it goes, if I'm not mistaken) before I even leave Imperial City.

So I want to know what seven skills I could use to make this work best.

I'm using a Breton, so magic skills won't work for Major Skills.

-I know sneak is a VERY easy skill to level, just stay undetected and move around behind someone.
-Alchemy is easy to level from brewing up w/e with everything I find (but being a Breton, not a Major Skill).
-Armor skills are pretty easy, as long as you have a weak creature that continually whacks you and doesn't do too much damage, and a healing spell.
-Weapon skills (Blade, Blunt, Hand to Hand) gain experience based on how many hits you land.
-Magic is easy to level, just get a low cost, low mana spell that only targets yourself and cast over and over (Again, not Major Skill for me)
-Athletics and Acrobatics should NEVER be used as Major Skills, leveling them just happens over time.
-Speechcraft is INSANELY easy to level, just play the minigame where the guy's facial expression changes a lot and do this with everyone.
-Block works a lot like armor, but to make it work fast you need good timing, lower the shield to make them think you're open, and right before they hit, block.
-Armorer is something that can't be used as a Major Skill, because it requires a limited amount of something and an item that took damage.
-Mercantile is a lot like Athletics and Acrobatics, because it just works its way up over time if you sell/buy stuff.

I don't know much about Marksman... is it like Blade/Blunt/HandtoHand, or is it each shot fired?

This is what I've learned from my experience. If you guys can think of anything else, please let me know.

The problem with leveling-up 'easy-to-level' skills, is that most of 'em do nothing for your character's level in comparison to monsters of your 'apparant' level.
For example, if your character has leveled all the way in any 7 of these:

Alchemy
Armourer
Alteration
Illusion
Mysticism
Security
Acrobatics
Athletics
Mercantile
Speechcraft

and is level 52 - a level 5 enemy will make mincemeat of him. So where is the point of being lvl 52?

You need skills that may not level particularly fast, but will actually give your char some real power:

Melee Weapon
Heavy or Light Armour
Destruction
Block

The first will add attribute points to your STRENGTH.
Armour will, obviously, protect you - and the better you are the more protected - besides adding points to either ENDURANCE or SPEED.
Destruction will add to your WILLPOWER as well as giving you an additional attack.
Block will protect you and add to your AGILITY - evading/deflecting blows.

Being greedy for early levels will be to your disadvantage both in the short and long term.

Oh - and BLOCK doesn't need much timing. Just keep a finger on the RIGHT mouse button all the time you are attacking with the LEFT button. SOME timing is needed, yes, but not much.

Major Skills

Sorry to be blunt but...

What are you, stupid? If you think I'm going to get to level 53 and attaining maximum stats without gaining the slightest ability to fight... then you aren't thinking very openly.

Oh, and if you haven't noticed, to train block, you must block more, the enemy attacks less if you hold your shield up nonstop. Do me a favor and think a little deeper, 'kay?

Sorry to be blunt but--what are you, too stupid to read the forum rules you were shown before you agreed to become a member?

#1 - Flaming, humiliating, ridiculing, or belittling other members will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, take it to private messages or email.

You either follow them, or you'll lose your posting privileges. There are ways to say what you want without flaming others. Those are the ones you use, here.

Yay!

Sorry, Fable.

I just get a little annoyed when people belittle my questions.

bushwhacker, since your comment immediately followed my reply,I assume you are saying that I 'belittled your questions', yes?

If so, you have misunderstood me. I was trying to be helpful, not to belittle you. It seemed to me from your questions that you were new to the game, had little knowledge of the way it worked, and actually wanted information, which I tried to supply.

However, I apologise for the misunderstanding. I had no intention of offending you.

Before you start with a character check their starting levels. Like a high elf starts with 80 health, 160 magicka, 140 fatigue or something like that. An Imperial starts with 100 health, 80 magicka, 80 fatigue or so. You want to raise your endurance as quickly as you level first. When it gets to 100 you will get +10 points to health every time you level up after that. Destruction, restoration, and mysticism take longer to level than the rest of the magic. Athletics, acrobatics, and the strength skills take some extra effort as well. Armorer is even easier after you get to expert since you can repair everything you find to 125. Plenty more info not enough time to type.

Then you better think twice before replying, as fable said. The rules are there to avoid this trollish behaviour, and if you want depth, ask for extra depht without being blunt. If you do that, we'll even appreciate the extra depth you've got through your question, instead of pointing the forum rules.

Whilst I agree that Destruction is a valuable skill, you don't need it if you use Ranged weapons - after all, the greatest value of Destruction is the ability to deliver Ranged damage with it (Touch spells are more powerfully damaging than Ranged spells, but you are open to melee damage), so it doesn't matter which you use - Ranged Weapon or Ranged Destruction: the object is to hurt your enemies at a distance, and either will do just as well.
And if you are good at Sneak, Ranged Weapon is MUCH better than Destruction, since it often kills with one strike.

The ease with which skills level up is dependent in part on choices you make during character creation. If you specialize in magic, magical skills will rise faster. Skills associated with your favored attributes will rise faster, as well--at least, that's been my experience.

As for Athletics, if you want that to rise quickly, just keep running.
