"Greetings Lucifer, I am Kron. Rather than having a discussion here around possible unfriendly ears, I shall fill you in on the details when we return to camp. It would be best for you to return to my comrade, Halgrath, and inform him you are to aid us. Assist him in gathering information, then return with him to our camp, he shall lead you to it. Oh, and you might need proof for Halgrath. Here." Kron cast Arcane Mark onto a piece of parchement and handed it to Lucifer. "I shall see you shortly."

Lucifer accepts the parchment and nods, agreeing that it is a wise suggestion.
"Why wont you come too, though? Are you on unfriendly terms, or something?"

"I... was in the process of conducting something in the camp. I had told Halgrath to meet me there, and I had planned to gather my own information independently. However it seems we chose the same location, so I decided to watch for interested eavesdroppers. But enough talk, we should not tarry here. Goodbye for now, Lucifer." With that Kron left, forstalling any further questions.

Oops, only just noticed Darkwolf's post there...I'll have to write something up for that later.
Anyway, I think I've given Yepi more than enough time to post an attack roll...so I've rolled it for him. :p

Second Round
  • Kazar attacks the orc and swings his axe towards the creature but fails to hit.
  • Swapping to his dagger, Sterwick attacks the krenshar in front of him and he grazes the beast with his weapon.
  • Sess attacks the other krenshar but his greatsword fails to hit it
  • Both krenshar then do the unexpected, peeling back the skin on their skulls to expose the gory muscle muscle and bone underneath. This scares Sess and Sterwick to such a degree that they both get scared.
  • Following this, the orc capitalises on the distraction to score a nasty strike on Kazar who loses 10HP as a result.
Third Round
  • Kazar attacks the Orc with his axe and almost succeeds in killing it.
  • Sterwick attempts to run away and the krenshar in front of him pounces dealing moderate damage.
  • Sess also tries to run away, his krenshar fails to hit, though the hobgoblin is luckier dealing a nasty hit.
  • The hobgoblin changes target and attacks Kazar, missing.
  • The krenshar swap enemies, with the one that was attacking Sess attacking Sterwick and vice versa. Sess suffers a bite wound. Sterwick escapes unharmed.
  • The orc though on the verge of collapse digs deep into some resource and critically wounds Kazar, knocking the dwarf into unconciousness....before collapsing and dying itself.
Into the fray enter Mikail and Splitwit...decide what you want to do...and post some attack/damage rolls if you're getting involved.
Presuming the monsters won't decide that for you.
And init, of course (D'oh! How could I forget that? )

init: 12

cast sleep in the area with the threat most directed to Kazar. Since the Krenshar attack sess and sterwick, this means the hobgoblin, I guess

take out my wand of magic missile

Lucifer looked after Kron for a moment, suspicions running through his head once again. He decided he would be careful in dealing with these people. There was something odd about them... And that accent of Kron's... why was it so disturbing?

He thought about this as he wandered back to the inn, where he found that the priest had left. After questioning the patrons as to where he had gone, he left in the direction they pointed.

Finally he noticed the priest by a guard post, talking to one of the guards. He decided to wait until the priest had talked enough.

"I don't know, they're goblins...occasionally there's a lot of them, they get brave so they try their luck and get beaten back. They seem to have short memories on this, the way they keep trying it on. They're always aiming for the mine though, that little I can tell you."

And for the battle, the diagram just shows distances and general positions:

Init: 3

Shoot Krenshar 1, to-hit roll of 12+3, damage roll of 6 (1d8).

*Points at Krenshar 1* Hopscotch, attack that monster!

Hopscotch (the eagle) attacks Krenshar 1 with a partial charge, with a to-hit roll of 16+4, and a damage roll of 6+2 (1d6+2).

Krenshar 1 takes 14 damage, which kills it.

Guh, this is causing me so much stress.

To the east of the combat, Mikail and Splitwit emerge from the tree line, taking the unsuspecting krenshar and hobgoblin by surprise, that is if they even notice.
  • Mikail casts sleep and the hobgoblin that was ready to rend Kazar to pieces collapses into a deep slumber.
  • And yep, the combination of an arrow wound and raking talons is enough to kill off Krenshar 1.
Sterwick tries to run again, getting away from the object of his terror and the krenshar pounces gashing Sterwick.
  • The krenshar chases after Sterwick (another 30ft) and HITS dealing a devastating bite, knocking the man unconcious.
  • Sess mills around frightened and Kazar + the hobgoblin are both unconcious.
So, post your to hit/damage rolls for the next round...

" I am greatful that you two went out of your way to help us back there, my name is Sesshomaru, and my injured friends are Sterwick and Kazar...."

" Your not so healthy yourself my friend ",replied the man

Ah yes a flesh wound ,nothing to worry about...just a quick healing is all that is needed....sesshomaru was a bit taken back that he had to be helped like that...he had never really needed anyones help before and him a Kazar always managed on their own....however this time was different....and Sesshomaru felt a bit embarrassed that he let them get so injured in the first place..." I didnt get to thank you......thank you.......um...I didnt catch your name....you are called?? "
Wondering how vampires live the life they live.....

You're supposed to wait for me to say the combat is over first you know... ;)

Having knocked down the enemy in front of it and seeing no others in the near vicinity, the krenshar just lopes off away to lick its wounds. Mikail, Splitwit and Hopscotch are too far away to attack, if you want to you can chase after anyway. And the hobgoblin is still fast asleep.

Right, I'll have to work on XP and treasure for the monsters killed. Continue the dialogue and such...

You all get 240XP to add to your character sheets.

Right, I want to cast Cure Light Wounds on Sesshomaru and Sterwick with my wand.

11 to both of them so I guess that's 10hp for Sterwick and 25 for Sess.

Splitwit grinned, "My name is Malhron...or was it Malehorn? Mudhorn? I don't know, ask my companion..."

Yep, they heal for those amounts.

Treasure for this battle:
- 2 masterwork studded leather armours...1 found on the orc, one on the hobgoblin.
- A masterwork Orc Double Axe, found strapped to the back of the orc, who wasn't either comfortable with the weapon or didn't have the time to equip it.
- 5 gems - Amber, Tourmaline, 2 white pearls, 1 bloodstone
- A krenshar fur (worth 10gp)

Mikail pours a healing potion down the throath of the unconcious dwarf, then proceeds to bind the hobgoblin with whatever is at hand (strips of dead-orc clothing?)

"Let us see what to do with the various items we have recovered. Ofcourse we are entitled to the bigger share and I claim jewels, preferably. And dont ask me his name, he'll tell you as soon as he remembers it, I cant be bothered about it."

as soon as Kazar is concious again:

"So, dwarf, you cost me a sleep spell and a healing potion. please leave the goblin alive, we may be able to pressure answers from him."

"The dwarf, Quanzar, is in charge of the mine. He'll see to your quesries, though I doubt he'll let you into the mine. He's overprotective of the place, like it's his baby. Why are you so interested in the place?"
~o~
Right, you tie up the hobgoblin with whatever you can find, though the bindings aren't too strong. The hobgoblin begins to groggily awaken.

pull out my dagger and put the point near one of the hobgoblins eyes, and as soon as he's concious enough to understand me (assuming he speaks common, and i think they do)

"Now, I promise, if you struggle too much, I wont kill you, but you'll lose an eye and we wouldnt want that would we?"
