Naga Jump!?!?!?!

Post by Ubiquitous »

Okay, I read the walkthrough and I know you are just supposed to make that jump were the floor drops from under you. I had a lizard character before that made it (after about 10 tries!). But this female Elf can't jump for crap. I have jumped and fallen for over an HOUR. Is there a trick or method?
I think that there has to be. I have jumped from as far as the game will let me and my elf bia will not grab the ledge@!@!@!@
I noticed it takes her a long time to grab the ledge that you have to grab to get out of the cave that you fall into. Like, she jumps and kind of floats for a bit and then finally grabs it.
This elf lady has inspired unimaginable new strings of curse words. My poor little dog...

Omg i just did that part. I took me forever to figure out all I had to was just jump it. Go as far back as you can and jump at the edge of the part that drops.

The widest band around the floor is the jumping point ;)

Figured it out

The rumor that says to use the celestial crystal SLow Time works. I remembered reading it in the walkthrough as a rumored trick. Well, I used it, ran and jumped and that fatty grabbed the ledge immediately on the first jump.
I think I know why too. Remember I said I noticed a fairly large delay in the time she makes contact with the ledge and when she actually decides to grab it. I think the time crystal doesn't slow that delay, but does slow her fall. So she grabs it before she has fallen too far.

PS I heard too many people saying athletics is a waste of exp, so I was scared.

atheletics is not a waste of points. i had the zeur and athletics at level 9 and he was hauling ass across the map. they also jump higher, and farther. you can hodl yoru breath longer under water, and go off some high dropoffs without taking damage, or less damage than normal. but if its high you won't take much. and by the way i have 1.4.

Hmm...
I knew they've given the agility bonus to ninja lords and budokas and all other rogues for a reason, but I didn't think it actually worked.
Thanks for testing.

The time crystal is useless unless you know where exactly to jump from. With or without the crystal, The floor has a wide band around the part that falls. Get back 4 or 5 steps, tilt your view down, run and jump just as you are on the wide line around the floor!
