Permanent Retirement (spoilers)

Ok so I'm doing the permanent retirement quest for the DB and since I'm weak I'm going with the rose of sithis approach. So he goes for his swim and I stay out of sight and nail him, even though the eye never lights up I still get a bounty. I've tried 6 times to no avail. Any suggestions?

Go invisible before you shoot him?

Chameleon 100% so you dont come out of it when you shoot

same happened to me...

try to shoot him from the other direction he coming from. Shoot him between the two houses there... I tried it from there and it worked...

I never got a bounty, you'll usually get a bounty if the person sees you before you shoot them. I just waited until he turned around before I shot him in the back of the neck. Then I searched his body and took the arrow back for future quests.

Well anygood assassin would have picked the spot between the houses.

First time I did mine, I got hacked to bits by his guard. The roofs are quite good to hide on, then you are too far up to get attacked by the guards if they come.

If you get up onto the little roof on the left of the stairway where his guard stands, then you can roof hop on the houses to the far platforms on the right of his guard. Then just hang out there till dark then shoot him...

It worked for me with no bounty...

I tried between the houses and was never seen but still got a bounty, oh well I give up trying to be perfect I just snuck in looted the corpse and payed off my bounty with armand. Thanks for your help.

Any GOOD assassin would pick the spot between two houses - true

Any EXCLELLENT assassin would be able to kill him wherever he is - such as within the gaurd house surrounded by gaurds with only a 6 second window and still be able to take the finger all without being discovered

Seems I picked the hard way though. At night he goes to the gaurd house - you will have a 6 second window to stick that arrow with him and/or take the finger then leg it.

But the bounty thing is interesting - if your visible by him or someone else whilst taking the shot then I would assume you would get a bounty on your precious little head.

Advice ? Ive heard he goes swimming alone....

Bribe the gaurd for info about his habits then waste Adamus at one of his preferred locations.
