Oblivion Gate at Anvil *spoiler*

Post by Kung Fu Baby »

Hey all,

I went in to close the OG outside Anvil (some quest from the Blades) and I found I couldn't get into the main tower. There are 2 towers on the outside of a loop road, I got into those but haven't found anything useful. So far I have spent about 2 hours going around and around trying to get into the 'centre' of the loop. But no luck, I'm missing something somewhere, but have no idea what?

I found another thread where it was mentioned but whoever asked was told to stay on topic. Anyhows here's a new topic :)

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Aha, no problem, I've closed three of this kind already.

What you do is get on top of the two you can access and flip the switches, breaks, that are on top of each. This will extend a bridge from these two towers onto the third (and possibly between these two but this is of just one use, look below).

Now if you are on top when you flip the second switch what you need to do is get back lower till about the middle of the tower, you need to be in the central chamber. There will be doors here marked - the Wastes of Oblivion - (apart from those leading upwards) open them and you'll find yourself facing the bridge to the central tower.

You can do something else too, to help you out. While you are on top, go down just a little bit lower, where there is that giant red circle thingie, just below the switch. There in the corridor there is another one of these gates to Oblivion plane. Now those lead to the tower where the first switch is, but they are handy in the way that they will show you, from the outside, where the bridge to the third tower is, how much lower, so you can judge how far down you need to go. But it shouldn't be a problem as I've said, considering that at only that point below, in the central chamber, is another door to the plane of Oblivion.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

OK, I'm still lost here. I'm in the Wastes of Oblivion. The first tower that I can enter is the Reapers Sprall. It has three levers to access, one in each level. First floor is to raise/lower the elevator; second floor is the same. Third floor is the cage release to release the dead prisoner. Don't see any other levers or doors to get this bridge to lower.

Meat Harbor is the second tower I can get in to. It's the same as Reapers Sprall. It has the Corpse Masher (elevator) with a lever on the first floor. The rest is just a spiral stairway with the Punished at the top level. No other levers or doors.

There are some other areas I can enter but they are caves, not towers.

What am I missing?

You can use the caves as well actually. One of the types of Gates I encountered was this - you go through the set of caves, quite a few of them, and they eventually lead you to open space, which you follow, then perhaps caves again, open space and then you find yourself in front of the main tower. I am pretty sure from what you're describing that this is it, go with the caves they should lead you to the main tower (with some open spaces patches to cover in between probably).

I beleive Ashen might have given instructions for the Skiingrad Gate by mistake. The key to the Anvil Gate are the "Nether Tunnels". These are actually randomized and can place you into different sections on the mao and upon exit will give you a path to another set of random caves (Red Gnash?). Point is, you'll have to navigate through these gaves and subsequent paths up to the Tower.

It's kind of like the Chedinhal or "Wayward Knight Quest" Gate except in that one you are headed downward through holes in the caves.

The two Towers (Reaper's Sprawl and Meat Harbor) are for looting only.

Well go to your map and you'll see entrances marked, those are the caves. Just look for a door that has that obl sign on it, the orange one, that is somewhere in the rock, shouldn't be too hard to spot.

there are a lot of portals that will help inside the sigil tower, I beat the game but it took me a long time to figure this out (about 10 gates into the game).
