Go Fish quest (how do I use a boat?)

Post by mikezilla »

I'm doing the Go Fish quest where I'm supposed to collect 12 Slaughterfish fish scales. Am I supposed to use the boat? If so how do I do that?

Spoiler
You don't use a boat. You just jump in the lake, and swim around where you were told the slaughterfish are. Miraculously, exactly enough slaughterfish are generated, one at a time in a row, for you to give the guy his 12 scales.

it's kind of cheating, but if you have trouble seeing under water you can swim along the surface and slowly look down. you can see clearly

as for the boat there are none in the game that you can sail your self.

Several posts removed that simply reiterate what was already written. We don't do that here on this board, guys. ;)

By the way, there are INI changes (if you're on a PC) that will let you make the water very clear and easy to see through.

What I did to complete this quest was lure the fish to the surface and fill it with arrows from the shore. Cheap? Yes. Effectice? Indeed.

barren ground

I went swimming around the whole circle of lake Rumare to find enough fish, when trolling the area that I was directed to found me almost nothing.

I still managed only four proper fish and a number of lesser slaughterfish. I was very low level at the time (maybe L3). I did wonder if at a higher level more would spawn (heh).

Since then, I have re-started from the game where I had that trouble, and I now have permanent night-eye and water breathing items. I'll give it another shot and see if I can find more of the pesky fish.

Later....I went to do the 'Go Fish' quest again and it was easy. Don't forget to use the green arrow on the compass pointer to locate your fish. The fish are likely generated one at a time for you in that quest (you kill one, another is generated), so if you don't follow your pointer you can spend forever looking, without finding.
The head of the guild asked a new prospect to descibe himself in as few words as possible. The prospect made it in one, "Concise".

i found all the fish at or neat the top of the water. they have a high weakness to shock. so i used the rockshatterer mace(very powerful shock attack) that i got from a quest and went swimming and smashing heads and it was easy.

Hi Julien,

exit Imperial city and go trough the main bridge, after you find Weye ( ops I don't know if the name is exact ). There is also an inn. You can find the NPC outside. Speak with him and give your help for finding the scales :)

You can bow-fish, but no cheating. One way or another you have be on or in the water. Those slaugherfish never get close enough to land to bowfish from the wharf. I went water-walking to good effect.
