Does this happen to you?
It seems it's the same for me with every ES game. I tend to restart the game over and over because iam not happy with my character. Its getting ony my nerves because I have had oblivion for a month now and i havent goten passed level 8. Iam going with the vampire assassin type. First i created an imperial assassin vampire....then as i got to the end of the DB quests i decided that imperials where to boring and sience the game is so indepth and long you need to have a character that you like, right?
So i restarted with darkelf vamp....Hes cool but iam starting to regret I erased my imperial...BAH!
Just wondering your thoughts!

Never Underestimate a vampire
In my experience your class/race/birth sign ect ect only make a difference for the first 20 levels or so.
After that, abilities start to flatten out as you reach the higher skill levels.
Having said that, I restarted once as my first character was completely useless (by level 10 I was getting owned by everything I came across)

I have a friend who does this. He played MW since it came out until well now, and is still playing together with Obl, and he hasn't finished MW once. He just keeps going through the characters.
I tend to pick one and then stick with it no matter what. I chose really odd major skills this time around (always a Dunmer though, never anything else) and I am still with that initial character even though it is somewhat weird.

And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
I always stick with the first character, fighter at first, more magic oriented later on. The only thing I regret is that there are no dwarves....
I was planning on going through with a thief character on the next run. However as has been said above, after 20 levels or so, there is not much more difference between different classes.
Perhaps I will go through with a mage, or perhaps I will move on to a different game.

Hi all,
I think I have the same habit of Hellblazer but not during game, only at my character creation Now I'll explain better: to create my character I spended a lot of hours for finding what was good for me, only one thing was sure: to be a Dark Elf
Now I'm happy of my character and I'm triyng to go through the game at best as I can ( I'm using default difficulty and it is a good heat, this game is harder than others for me ).

Level 25 is the highest I've taken any character. I play around a lot with various character types as well, until I think I have one that suits me... then, anywhere between level 9 and 25 I know how that char operates, and I get bored, and I start over.
I completed Morrowind several times. So far, I have not finished the Main Quest of Oblivion at all - in fact, I've decided not to bother with it any more because it gets in the way of everything else - but I have completed Mage Guild Quests about 3 times, and become Archmage.
My current char is running both Mage and Fighter Guild Quests, and the Collector Quest, besides a lot of other stuff, and is a level 22 Breton.
Guess what, HellBlazer? I'm getting bored...

Now that IS frustrating! But Redguards are rubbish at magic.

Yeah, I have erased my darkelf and decided to restart as an imperial thief\assassin soon to be vampire. And iam sticking to him for christs sake!
I just love vampire characters and sence i cannot play vampire bloodlines because of a certian lacking in computer hardwear (and the fact that troika never produced an xbox version! :speech: ) And i prefer how the i mperials look as vamps because thats generally what vampires have looked like in popular lore. And my darkelf vampire looked like a blasted goblin!!! :mischief:

Once I create a character I tend to stick with that character throughout.
For Oblivion, I'm still working on my Dark Elf, Battlemage, under Sign: Ritual.
I've made it to Level 33 and am having a blast!
In Morrowind, I actually did create different characters but only after having computer crashes that wiped out my progress. I learned to backup my saved games after about the third time it happened.
