Hi All
Ok I am new to this, so please help me if you can.
After looking all over the forum on the Hero Save thing, I went to try it....and it did not work!
I have restarted TLC and I saved just before you pick up the first quest, the wasp one.
Now, IF I have it right, I should take the quest....Leave the guild through the big doors....Go up the road....and then (after you meet the man who tells you to follow him) I can go to the large thicket and hack them away....Then go down the now open path to the silver key.
Then AFTER I pick up the silver key, I do a hero-save.
Then I can simply load in the save and I should be able to do it all again yes???
Well that’s what I have done and it does not work!?!?!?!?
Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
Or is this a case that the hero-save has been changed for the Xbox in TLC so that you cannot exploit it??
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Shane.
Fable TLC Xbox question
Just to give you a couple of clues so you can judge whether this should work in the future...
1. When you start a quest, the game will autosave. Since the game doesn't autosave until you enter the picnic area, you can tell when the quest starts.
2. If you try to leave the area (easiest way is to try to use your Guild Pass) you get a message that you are leaving a quest area. Note that some quests cover multiple areas, so you would have to try leaving the entire quest area.
3. When you save, if you see "World Save" you are not in the middle of a quest, if you see "Hero Save" you are in the middle of a quest.
If you really want to do the silver key thing, I highly recommend that you save your game before starting any of the reloading to a slot that you will not overwrite. Then, while doing the reloading trick, every 5 reloads or so leave your save game slot and start using another. This has a history of screwing up your save games, so if you switch slots every 5 saves or so you won't lose as much if your game goes buggy.
The easiest quest to do this with early in the game (highlight below for spoiler):

Attack or Defend Orchard Farm.

Start the quest, go to Orchard Farm and instead of attacking the guards or bandits, just fish at the ripple (see map for where to fish). Once you have the key, save, reload and repeat. Obviously you need to get a fishing rod wither by buying it or from Fisher Creek.
Also, if you do it here, don't take any boasts for the quest. Sometimes if the guards/bandits get killed while you are fishing you don't get credit for doing the boast after you reload.
