I'm a bit confused by the instruction manual. I'm contemplating using an aasimar paladin in my party. How does the experience point progression work in leveling up. The manual says aasimars are considered one level higher when the experience for advancing levels is determined.
Does this mean that to get to level 2, an aasimar needs 3,000 XP, to get to level 3, he needs 6,000 XP, and so forth?
Or, does that mean the XP progression is level 2 - 2000 XP, level 3 - 4,000 XP - basically, double your XP each time you level up?

Don't know the exact amounts of XP, but basically if you have an aasimar or a drow etc. in your party then they will generally always be 1 level behind your other party members due to how the XP is worked out/how much they need etc. This is not a problem though as it just balances them with the rest of your party as they are more powerful to start with.

It Looks Really Odd At First
I had an Aasimar in my first party (and a Deep gnome yikes 3 levels) and I was quite confused by the whole thing at first. But in the course of the game it does work out correctly. I am about to fight the final fight with that group and my 3 "normal" characters are 17th level. My 2 Aasimar are 16th and my Deep Gnome is 14th.
