Problem with Comp. lag while fighting dragons.

Post by Chippox of Doom »

Topic says it all, bg 2 runs very smooth and fast, doesnt mather how much area effect spells i use etc, but when ever im fighting a dragon, it starts to lag so much u can barly play, it takes me 5 mins to set up my partys actions after each pause :(

Anyone had this problem?

I have a p4, 2 ghz, g-force 4 mx 1000+ ram etc witch i think should be way enough.

Welcome to GameBanshee!

While the dragon fights do make my minow system crawl there is probably something else wrong with yours.

Do you have the latest patches?

Drivers for your video card?

Save before a dragon fight then experiment with turning options off on the video settings this may narrow down a culprit. - Curdis !

It is very likely the game itself have problems when you fight dragons and it isn't your system which is the culprit.
It has been a very long time since I've played through BG2 last (will have to do it again soon :) ), but I do recall my game "lagging" when I fought big monsters as well or when a lot happened on screen, despite being well above the system specs.
So it could simply be a game- design/graphic issue, but alas, that is just a guess.
