*SPOILER* train with shadowmere/glitch with shadowmere *SPOILER*

Easy training with Shadowmere

Go just outside of some area outside of a city, and make sure no one can see you. Also, make sure no enemies can sneak up on you (open plains at day work best). Turn the difficulty to full, get off Shadowmere, and start hitting it with hands, weopons, spells, whatever you want. It wont die easily, and it wont attck you back. As we all know, it will jsut come back to life after you kill it, so its a perfect training tool. If a enemy sneaks up on you, just turn the dificulty to easy or whatever it was already at. Also, when you knock Shadowmere uncouncious, it will start walking back to Fort Farrogut (or whatever the name is, where you first got him). If him walking annoys you, just get on him and fast travel to the nearest location and walk back to where you were. Also, each time he goes uncouncious, save. Read why below. To find out why I said you cant be seen read the next part.

Glitch with Shadowmere

If you attack Shadowmere a few times with people around, you will recieve messages saying you have stolen from the thieves/mages/fighters/etc guild, and you will have to fix it. For me, it has sometimes said 2-3 guilds at the same time, which is odd. I have tested this many times, although only at the same place (Stables outside of Imperial City). It would be nice if you could varify this in more places as well. Sometimes, when I was 90% sure no one saw me (and I was in the same place as I always was whenI was beating up Shadowmere), it still said I stole from some guild, so that is why you have to save each timeyou "kill" him.

Im sure both of these are alreadt known, but I just found them out so I thought Id share them with you.
Since I ask quite a few questions, I thought it might be nice to have an important detail in my sig.

I have Oblivion for 360!

This mght clear up some posts in my topics.

Nope, she can't die. And she fights by your side. Both. Nothing you can do about it, really.
Sometimes I just wait for Shadowmere to get knocked down before I become involved. You can't kill Shadowmere but sometimes if you do try it too often she goes off in a huff, and then you've got to go get her back. Alternatively, if you plan on getting into a fight just leave her at the stables.

shadowmere

She's forever showing up when I fast travel & I thought I left her safely home, I hate having her get it into it, getting hurt so I have to heal her. How can I make her stay, when I don't want to ride her. I'm on 360, are you saying she won't really die, but will respawn back at Fort Farreget?:speech:

No. When she "dies" she just goes unconcious. Give her a few seconds and she'll be up and kicking again.

Shadowmere will always come when you fast travel to a location outside of a city, and she will also follow you to any city you fast travel to. The only way to keep her from following you is to just take the long way morrowind style.

If you constantly beat up that horse he will walk off in a huff and go to that Fort, You can now fast travel as much as you want Shadowmere wont be with you no more until you go to that fort and retrieve her.

OMG thank you so much for posting to this thread everyone. I lost shadowmere when I closed the last oblivion gate and i thought she was lost forever!

Definately the coolest horse in the game. It would be neat if you could keep the unicorn.
