Elven racial bonuses...?

Post by Eldariel »

Ok, so after attaining Use All Items with my Elf-Thief, I finally got Scarlet Ninja-To +3 and use it with Adjatha, the Drinker (+2-weapon). Now, Elves are supposed to get +1-bonus to Long Swords, but my hit charts with Specialization in Scimitars and Long Swords and 3 points in two-weapon fighting are:
Adjatha (hand-1) THAC0: -1
Scarlet (hand-2) THAC0: 0

By my mathematics, Scarlet Ninja-To's +3 bonus and the Adjatha's +2 bonus+the Elven +1-bonus should be equal, yet Scarlet obviously has one point better to-hit bonus (as it's in hand 2 and therefore gets the -2). This made me think, what exactly is that +1 bonus to Longswords? Does it only apply to normal Longswords? Is it damage-bonus? THAC0+damage-bonus? Only for Fighters? What's the deal?

I have never found any proof in the game, that the elven bonus for longswords was implemented in any way.

Best regards,
Lark.

Same experience for me

Had an Elven Thief/Mage and the THACO seemed the same whether he was armed with a short sword or long sword (as long as the + was the same).
UNCOMMON VALOR WAS A COMMON VIRTUE
