Spoiler...after the Arena

Post by nih »

Ok i finished the arena and am now grand champion. My question is about that little dude who comes up to you and wants to follow me around. Is he just an anoyance or does he actually serve a purpose?

I dont know, I havent seen the little bugger for awhile, but you could try killing him as the cursor does not identify him as an essential NPC. Hes been marked since the day he approached me... *grumbles*
If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.

I've had him follow for a while, and he doesn't appear to serve a purpose. You could always just tell him to wait at the Arena. :)

Or take him to oblivion, tell him to wait, and close the oblivion gate :D

You can't do that with the Obl Gate, he'd be next to you again once you close it. You could push him into the lava though.

He serves no purpose but to annoy you really, and I've seen various creative ways of disposing of the said NPC.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

I haven't found a use for him. I eventually went to a remote corner of the arena, told him to wait there, and he's been there ever since. If I do find a use for him, I know where to find him. If I don't, then no harm done - he's a lawn gnome.

Well, if anything, he's good for comic relief thru the sweet physics system, as show in http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... ail&id=495 . Oh, and he also respawns apparently, so you can never get rid of him. I, however, see no problem with taking advantage of that for laughs. :D

If you don't have a spell, scroll, potion or item with the Light effect or you just prefer a soft golden light to green glare, and you carry a bow or two-handed melee weapon or just don't want to bother equipping and un-equipping a torch constantly, take him with you as a light source, since he always carries a torch. Just a few minor drawbacks. Like, you'll have to focus all your attention on protecting him or he'll bite the dust the first time you run into a mudcrab. Unless he sees the danger first, in which case he'll bolt and leave you in the dark. Other than that, he's a world-class torch-bearer :)
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

I took him to the imperial prison, opened one of the cells, told him to wait there, and closed the gate. :p It's the most effective solution I can think about.
This way I don't need to see him always in front of my face, and I know where he is (I've visited him many times :D ) . And besides, It gives me satisfaction to know that he's in prison  .

Since he respawns, you can use him to increase your skills - e.g., Hand to Hand; or use a really weak sword and whack away for Blade increase (followed by casting a spell that restores his health) followed by more whacking, etc...

I used him to gain entrace to the dark brotherhood, and then about a month after the deed was done he appeared behind me in Cheydinhal, scared me half to death.
And lo ye must learn of the great war that raged fo a couple of posts and brought the citadel momentaraly to its knees
Lookie!

I tend to appear briefly and disappear very quickly after that, try not to let it bother you.

Now that's an interesting thing to know. I generally don't like tag-a-longs, because they slow me down too much. At this point, I can probably out-run Shadowmere on the ground. That kid, though, I know you can't lose. I know because I've specifically tried to lose the annoying little nit by leaving him lost in the forest a la Hansel and Gretel. It didn't work.
Maybe I'll go release the Lawn Gnome and let him come with me on my next Dungeon Crawl. Thanks for the tip.
