Changed the title of your thread. "HELP" is okay, but a little undefined ;) , and since you say it has possible spoilers, chances are a lot of people would avoid it without knowing its general content. "Mage Guild quest difficulty" doesn't giveaway anything, but it says what the thread's about. If you want it changed back, just let me know. :)

necromancers are sooo annoying i agree!! try changing the difficulty at the menu screen!!

what i did was just load up on healing potions and some simple spells!! i have ten spells now which helps each one doing something different!!
A man walked into bar what did he say?

Poisoning your arrows should help and also, as said above, have plenty of healing potions (in one of your hotkeys).

The first time I played the Mage Guild Quests I found the Necromancers difficult, too. I don't think your level is a problem, nor your sneak/marksman levels. Maybe you are taking on too many at once?
When do you get the problem? Inside the cave, or outside in the glade with the group of Necromancers?

Inside the cave should be little real problem, I think, since you get them one at a time if you are cautious.

In the glade, you need to be VERY cautious. And, as has already been said, make sure you have plenty of healing and magica potions. Also, cast shield on yourself or take shielding potions, and Fortify Endurance/Fortify Health potions or spells.

When you exit the caves into the glade, DON'T move! ONE of them will see you right away and talk to you. Make sure you kill her very fast. Alternate magic and weapon (if you have a melee skill. If not stick with Magic - Touch magic is best). If you haven't moved from the exit, chances are the others still haven't spotted you.
When the first one is dead, take out the nearest with poisoned Ranged weapon, alternated with ranged fire spell as he runs towards you. With any luck he will die before he gets to you, or at least you can finish him with Touch magic before he does you much damage.
The third one may or may not attack while you are dealing with the second. Depends how close he is. He MAY not have seen or heard a thing if you have stayed close to the cave exit. In any case, don't attack him until you have dealt with the second one. And then attack as before - but this time you can run around healing yourself between hits if you need to...
Don't forget to refresh your protections if they have run out, either!

I' was killing them with just one strike (With sneaking bonus). Maybe your strength and weapon qualty is too low.

Don't forget, the monsters and enemies are lvling up with you. So your lvl will not make a great difference. I Used the Honor of Chorrol blade until lvl 30, wich was enough for a long time. Try this longsword if you not returned it. (Also raise your strenght to min 70).

I'm using this blade too! When I got it I ran to Umbra and killed her without any problem. I was so happy, because I got 2 great swords without cheating. I prefer to use the blade of Chorrol, because with Umbra the game is too easy. :p

Necromancers seem to go down easy for me, usually one hit from sneak (3x damage) with an enchanted Bow of Inferno (20 fire damage) and a high damage arrow (silver or above). But I have very high sneak (armor does not help victim) and high marksman.
Also, one hit with Ebony blade, Goldbrand or Umbra from sneak (6x damage). If you get seen after the first attack then try an invisibility spell or potion or high chameleon before you attack.

In order to get the Honor blade of Chorrol you need to do the 'Sins of the Father' quest. You will get this quest from Fathis Ules only after you will finish two quests: 'Separated at Birth' and 'Legacy Lost'. Try to ask some people in Chorrol about rumors, until you will get the 'Separated at Birth' quest. This quest will lead you to the second quest, and after you will finish both of them, Fathis Ules will approach you and give you the quest with the blade. If it sounds complicated, you can get all the information here:

Absolutely! I make two poisons for dealing with Necromancers and Conjurers. The first is a basic Silence potion/poison. The second is what I call "Mage Bane" poison. Mage Bane (my name for it) is a combo of Spiddal Stick and Harrada. Combined they damage both health and magicka. Wormwood leaves can be used in combo with either of these two ingredients as well. Anyway in sneak mode approach the target with a poisoned silence arrow (paralyze would work as well) and shoot them. While the arrow is in flight coat another with Mage Bane or Damage Health and let fly. The first arrow should do triple damage and keep the Necromancer from summoning a nasty companion or healing themselves for a few seconds. The second arrow should be enough to finish him off. Most of the the time my second arrow outright kills them with another triple damage but the Mage Bane ensures a kill in case they manage to drink a healing potion or if you don't get the triple damage. I can cut my way through these bozos with this technique. Don't try this on Liches though as they resist most or all the poison - just buff up and rush them and don't stop swinging until its dead while ignoring anything they may summon.
