Multiclassing help

I have a human ranger lev 1 that I want to multiclass to a paladin then to a fighter. Thus ranger 1, paladin 2, fighter X but I am not allowed to multiclass from ranger 1 to paldin 1 why?

Need advice fast since I intend to either restart tomorrow or continue on with the problem fixed.

Is your ranger lawful good ?

I don't think taking 1 ranger level is worth it, even the immunity to disease you get for paladin level3 is more useful.

Oh shoot, I think she is chaotic good. I pick the ranger for the ambidex and two weapon fighting skills for free. I intend to dualwield Cera Sumat and something else. I get it now, thanks.
