Honor Blade of Chorral *Spoilers*

Post by Dowaco »

I did the quest to get this sword a long time ago. At the time, I gave it to the countess for which I got a reward (I forget what it was). But I also alienated Fathes Ules who I need later on in the Theives Guild quests. As a result, I gave up a powerful weapon and ruined the TG questline. Fortuneately, there is a mod that fixes Fathes Ules and other powerful weapons exist in the game, but I am curious.

You can keep the sword.
You can return it to the rightful owner.
You can give it to Fathes Ules.

What happens if you give it to Fathes? Just a monetary reward? If so, the best course seems to be to just keep it. But then the questline is never finished and Fathis may still not like you since you did not give him the sword.

Similar situation with Umbra, but it is decisions like these that make the game more interesting.

Giving the sword to Fathis

Fathis gives you money.
But you left something out. If you return the sword to Castle Chorrol you get a kick-ass shield.

You need to do the quests 'Separated at Birth' and 'Legacy Lost' first.
and then Fathis Ules will give you this quest. It called 'Sins of the Father'.

The sword gets better and better as the game goes on, always exceeding the damage of other available weapons by several points. The only bummer is that you can't enchant it with a sigil stone. I'm keeping it!

The sword is sweet, but the shield fortifies endurance and reflects damage. It's highly amusing (and boosts your Block skill lickety split) just to hold your shield up and watch your enemies keel over dead without ever swinging your sword (I think the confused expression on their faces must be my imagination :) ).

In any case, either item is worth far more than what Fathes will give you for the sword, especially since he'll never talk to you again even if you give it to him.

Suh-weet! Where's she keep it?

(I stole back the Draconian Madstone from the Countess of Bruma after she rewarded me for finding it, but it was sitting there in a display case in the throne room just begging to be stolen :mischief: )

she kept it on herself. i stole it when she was sleeping. the only problem is that now that i have the sword i can't get rid of it or enchant it. does anyone know if the sword can be enchanted or is there some way to get rid if it? it keeps saying i can't because its a quest item but the quest is over.

Yeah, I have at least 5 items that I can't throw away because they're a quest items. (I started and finished the Dark Brotherhood just because I wanted to get rid of my Blade Of Woe). But it doesn't disturbing me, because they weight 0. So look at the bright side- Its a sword that doesn't weight!
