Do you need to be a thief in order to receive the pickpocket points from the drunken harlot in the south east portion of the hive or can you also collect them if you are a fighter (assuming that I change the class of the Nameless One into a thief later on)?
Also would I like to know if still can become lawful once you've joined the chaosman or anarchists. My friend tells me that there are some great benefits from joining them, although I would like to finish the game as a lawful good thief/mage.

As far as I remember, yes. The same way you have to be a fighter in order to improve your weapon skills, or a mage in order to learn new spells, you have to be a thief in order to improve your thieving skills.Cassten wrote:Do you need to be a thief in order to receive the pickpocket points from the drunken harlot in the south east portion of the hive or can you also collect them if you are a fighter (assuming that I change the class of the Nameless One into a thief later on)?
I haven't tried this, so I'm not sure, but how would you justify being a lawful thief from a role-playing perspective? Also would I like to know if still can become lawful once you've joined the chaosman or anarchists. Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak
Thanks will turn the NO into a thief first then.

By finding it ironic.
EDIT: I just turned the NO into a mage. However, as I gain new levels I wont receive any new stat points!! Is this a specialty for fighters only?

You will get your pickpocket bonus from dialogues even if you are not a thief. This is relatively easy to test if you save before becoming a thief in Ragpicker's square. Simply try two conditions: either get the bonus from Yellow-Fingers or not and then become a thief. You'll see a +5 if you get the bonus even as a fighter.
