I am so cheering for Italy.
The inevitable World Cup thread!
Oh boo is all I can say
I am so cheering for Italy.
I am so cheering for Italy.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Finally, the Finals!
Italy vs. France then.
Just wondering why a lot of people I know would cheer for anyone but France.

Many football fans in Denmark find the france team "arrogant", and thus they'll support Italy more. Also - in my view Italy has played better football then France at this world cup, which perhaps earn them a bit more respect. France has pretty much done only what they needed to and nothing more, and only the match against Brazil did I think they played well. Last night against Portugal was boring with a captial b, and o, r, i, n and g.

Shame, it won't be the France vs Germany final, because I really wanted to see which country the English grudgingly support.

England is out, not that I care...and sooner the whole thing is over, the better...no-one seems to support France, so they get the edge for me. A very insignificant edge.

Forgive my anti-football ways, but doesn't it stand for something that they made it this far regardless of how well they played?

If it was France vs Germany I would have supported Germany, mainly cos I have some good friends who are German. As its France vs Italy I will be supporting France, simply cos I like Henry and Zidane. To be honest though, I don't really care who wins. If it had been Italy vs Portugal I would have gone for Portugal simply because they have never won it before.
Just came back from my hiking trip in the wilderness where I had no access to TV or news - of course I booked my flight so that I would not miss the final. Italy-France was not the final I was hoping for though...I don't really understand what happened to Brazil, can anyone explain how and why they went out to France? What was the reaction in Brazil, Luis?
I cheer for France, but Italy are playing for the honour of Italian football and this is something so immensely, unbelievably big so I believe they'll win on pure motivation and willpower,

Has Zizou gone completely psychotic? Maybe it was the voice again this time telling him to headbutt Materazzi.
I feel so sorry for Trezeguet, it's not easy to spend most of the time on the bench and then come in and score a penalty on his own club keeper.
Congratulations to Italy!

I'm still in shock that Zidane did that. What on earth was he thinking? And in his last ever match too. I wanted France to win but I have to say I'm glad Italy won the penalty shoot out - they have had more than their share of bad luck in penalties in the past. I always feel sorry for the player that misses though.

Total social disorder for 30 minutes. Then people had the beer and complained that they wouldnt have the day off for the semi final.
Other than that, we're blaming Parreira, and Roberto Carlos for not being ready to defend when he needed to (the goal is his fault). Well, it was good, cause now the country started working again, and with the political war going on (it is presidential run time) we'd better be aware.
Hooraay!!! Viva Italia!

Quattro for Italia.
Well done, Italia. Considering the scandal that rocked Italian football, the players bonded together to get Number Four. Sweet. Very sweet.
Feel sorry for Zidane though. He could have had a graceful exit.

I guess it's called going out with a bang.
Italy were just devasting with their corners, I'm surprised they didn't score off them later. And Zindane did an absolute cracker of a header, brilliant save by Buffon.

I was so relieved to see Italy win that, particularly after they disallowed that legal Luca Toni goal. I just wasnt to know what the Italian player (can't remember the name) said to get Zidane all riled. It's know excuse of course as that was absolutely ridiculous, but still... It's a shame he had to go out like that because I always had enormous respect and love for him, but he deserves the backlash for losing his head like that (pun alert!). It's good to see the azzurii win, they deserved it, particularly for having to deal with all the Juventus crap going on, but France did play well too. They just don't have Buffon.
Forza italia!
