Selling Traps

I wonder why I can't sell traps. No matter how I got them or how sketchy the seller, there is a message that says "this merchant will not accept stolen goods." I can sell them the cheap jewelry I stole from peasants, why not a trap I took off a corpse?

I think it's just some global intuition all the NPCs have about traps because in most cases they are used by thieves and such. Bioware just chose to do that.

There are some merchants which are labled as "Shady Characters" (or similar) which will buy stolen goods and also traps. There are a couple through the (original) game in some of the cities. Try checking the walkthough here at GameBanshee where you can find them. (I know there is on in the NW are of Port Llast, but it has been ages since I've played the game, so can't remember others.

Why traps ended up being flagged as stolen goods, only Bioware knows

but it is wierd indeed.
