Time Limit? (poss spoiler)

Is there a time limit to complete the main quest? I ask as I am now on something like day 115, and I am noticing more and more Oblivion gates where ever I go (where Im pretty sure there were not before). Do these gates just keep appearing everywhere until the whole place is over-run, or can I just carry on doing side quests for as long as I want and then get back to the main event later on?

no there is no time limit.

they only stop when you beat the main quest
