Need help Battle for Castle Kvatch **Spoiler**

OK, so somehow I got to the Count's bedroom and his body. When I click on his body, nothing happens - the icon and his name appear, but no inventory pops up. The castle gates are open, Matius is alive, etc. A green pointer points to the wheel-lever at the top of the stairs. I think I must have turned it already as the gates are open and Matius and his guys are standing on the path outside the gate and he tells me "Let's go". I say "OK", but he just stays there. Never says for me to go alone or anything. Anybody got a hint for me?? Pleez!!!

Seems odd. Maybe a bug. Have you got a save from before you entered the Count's bedroom? If so, I suggest you load it, if you haven't already tried that.

Yeah, I've reloaded several times...

Gets to the point where I have to go get the key from Inian (follow him till he dies) He has the key and I take it. I saved, then checked my inventory and it not there! I go thru the passage and up - the gates are already open. Matius will not come with me. One Imp guard does and we fight our way to the Count's bedroom. I cannot "activate" his body! Nothing happens! No ring - nada. Thought maybe I'd done the quest previously but it was still active and Matius still wanted my help with it. RATS!!!!!

Question: Are you on PC or XBox 360?

If the former, you can easily use the console to fix the quest for you.

The commands to give you the Count's ring and proper journal entry:
Player.AddItem 00032DA0 1
SetStage 00028C72 90


If those fail and you just want to get rid of the quest from the active quests list use this:
SetStage 00028C72 100

Thanks so much! I don't even know how important getting the ring is. I gave up that part and went on to close the Great Gate, etc. Also looked for the console item number, but my list didn't have it. After about 8 reloads and retries, I will use the additem command.
